Good hotel, easy access to city center

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Blackout curtains and the TV is tiny and not in a good viewing area from the bed
Location: The city center and shops are just minutes away. The highways are near by to do easy road trips and sightseeing. The local pubs are very close.
The hotel was sweet and charming on the outside. The hotel was not the one in the pictures, but down the road a block or two and they were cute as well, but we were hoping to stay in the one that is pictured on the website. There was construction going on in the back of the hotel and I feel the hotel should let the website know that there is big construction renovations going on at the hotel, so guests will not be inconvenienced. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Overall it's a nice place to stay for a quick visit to Launceston.

Spacious rooms, great location

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: The llocation. Spacious rooms. Plenty of free off street parking. Nice bar with well priced local wines and beer.
Cons: The steps were wooden, steep and the verandah tiles did not abut the stairs very safely. (We aged 60s/70s couple). i woulld stay on ground ground level
Location: Easy walk to Gorge. Stillwater restaurant over the road. Bottle shop, restaurants, riverside Boardwalk and city all within walking distance
We had an upstairs room which seemed newly renovated and was very spacious. Everything clean. Bed very comfortable. Lots of complimentary tea and coffee and nice range of bathroom products. Room faced the road and was close to the bar/restaurant but was very quiet.

Handy location, pleasant environment

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: Location, quietness
Cons: Room furniture - it would be better to provide some armchairs or a lounge rather than a table and two chairs.
Location: It is on the fringe of the CBD, Quite near the Cataract Gorge and very handy to the great seafood restaurants.
Rustic style rooms of a good size, well presented and equipped. It is very conveniently located, being only five minutes walk from the Seaport restaurants. Would happily stay there again.

close to town and amenities

Posted Jan 18, 2015
Pros: the off street parking is excellent, you can access much of the things to see and do quite easily
Cons: rooms are a bit stuffy, lots of stairs if your room is up top,and it needs a lot of tlc and maintenance on many things like uneven surfaces on stairs
Location: the river is directly across the road, and you can access the river walk quite easily, the main shopping precinct is only a short walk as is the museum
close to river and other attractions. the bistro and bar which are not part of hotel but on the same property is excellent, great food ,great service .

If only the hotel walls could talk, they would tell you a lifetime of stories..
