Comfortable overnight stayPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: It was different from the usual hotel. Close to Launceston shopping and touring (if you have a car)
Met by friendly front staff. Offered a choice of available rooms. Interesting decor in rooms. Nice touch. A little different from many hotels/motels.

Historical experience in 1830s mansionPosted Jun 10, 2010
For those that would like a historical experience, this hotel has it. The hotel is a house (mansion) built in the 1830s and has fantastic character. Each room is decorated in period style and the rooms are large. The drawing room was expectionally fun to sit on the sofa by the fireplace, reading one of the many vintage books lying around, sipping a glass of wine and envision yourself back in the day. Hotel close to downtown (2 minute drive away). House located on quiet dead end street. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast can be purchased as in B&B style and served in the period dining room. Flat screen TV and VCR is provided in each room as well as tea/coffee service and fridge. Panaromic views, house is on hilltop.
