The room felt and smelled like it had been flooded. Damp bed, stagnant air, bathroom felt slimy. There seemed to be a shortage of towels but not of other people's stuff in the room. We found a dirty bra in the drawer by the alarm clock. Finally, the midnight evacuation after the fire alarm woke up my family due to "malfunction" or "false alarm" or "a child" ( I got all 3 stories. I wouldn't stay at this place again.

While the room was clean, the hallways were not and it stunk of mildew and mold. Don't leave room without shoes. The doors are such think metal that every time a person comes and goes from their room, you get woken up. The cleaning staff also began banging doors shut at 7am and knocked on our door at 9 to ask if we needed towels . We needed to sleep in and this wasn't the place to do so.

Old and out dated. The entire building needs an overhaul. I will not stay at another La Quinta Inn.

Cons: Everything
Location: Nothing - just the Green Turtle to eat
Staff was unfriendly including cleaning staff. Room was dirty with crumbs under the bed. No exhaust fan. Dead bug in the hall. Window screen broken. Lamp didn't work. Laundry room out of order. Ice machine didn't work - had to go downstairs. Stain on pillow. Gross!

Pros: The bed
Cons: For the money, probably nothing. A paint job, updated art?? For $70 a night I don't think it could better.
Location: Nearby is golf, and the Preakness Horse Racing Facility. Preakness was this same weekend and there were plenty of rooms available.
There are several other similar properties in the area. I took about an hour to consider each and finally went with this LaQuinta. For the money it was one of the best deals I can remember. The bed was awesome, the staff was great, and the free breakfast the next day was a real plus. They even had free bottled water and a bag of chips for me. My previous hotel charged $6 for that ... I would definitely stay there again and not waste the time considering the others.

The Hotel Double charged my room.

Pros: Bed was comfortable. That's the only thing that was nice about hotel.
Cons: Hotel staff needs to be more personable. Hotel staff needs more training. The hotel smelled and didn't seem very clean.
Location: Location was good for travel time to the Cal Ripken Stadium. I would pay more to stay at another hotel. I wouldn't trust this hotel again.
The hotel smelled stale and the night staff wasn't very personable when we checked in. The next morning I called my bank in the morning and found out the hotel charged my room twice. The hotel's assistant manager didn't understand what I was trying to explain to her about the charge. I had to call back and forth between the hotel and my bank to get things finally rectified. The asst manager ended up putting the hotel manager on the phone with me. The other family I was staying with had a problem when checking into hotel as well. The evening hotel employer advised my friend when he put her credit card through the system that the card may have been charged two times and he advised that she better check her card to make sure it wasn't charged. The hotel staff than commented that the credit card machine was having issues working correctly and that this has happened before. My friend had to switch hotel rooms because her room smelled like cat urine. The hotel room's refrigerator wasn't cold enough. Closet door was broken.

Waited more than 20 minutes to check in

Pros: Location was convenient, right off the highway. The breakfast was OK for this type of hotel. The price was fair.
Cons: The hotel staffing and check in process in the evening (as explained at length in the main body of my review)
I arrived the hotel close to 11 PM after a long drive from CT with wife and kids in tow -- all us tired and looking forward to a good night's rest before driving on to Williamsburg, VA the next morning. There was nobody at the front desk to check us in. The front desk phone was ringing off the hook -- potential reservations lost I suume. I saw a security patrol down hall, who said said that the he not seen front desk lady in while but that the she was probably in the rest room. After waiting patiently for about 10 minutes I called the hotel, which just caused the front desk phone to ring unanswered. As I had a prepaid booking I had no choice but to wait -- otherwise I would tried one of the other hotels nearby. Another potential guest came by but left after waiting for about 5 minutes. After waiting more than 20 minutes, a hotel employee arrived by car with some snacks and drinks in hand. I asked if she could chek us in, which she did. During the check in the front desk lady arrived with the security guard. She apoligized and said that she did not know anyway was at the front desk and said that she had been helping a guest. There was no sign at the front desk saying that she would be back in ?? minutes or instructing guests to call a mobile number for her assistance. The breakfast and room were satisfactory. The morning staff were friendly and the check out was efficient. Unfortunatly, the check in experience tainted my overall impression of the hotel.

Great, this was our second visit in 3 years. We liked the location, the staff and breakfast as well as the comfort and cleanliness of the room and common areas.
