Very close to the heart of the cityPosted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was pleasant but is somewhat bland and needs updating. They provide neither breakfast nor wireless for free. I got one or both of those features in other hotels without charge in different cities in Germany. The one big plus, though, is that the hotel is just a half block away from the tram stop at the center of Kassel.

The hotel is located in the center of town which provides everything in walking distance. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was very good, and reasonable. The staff were very professional and helpful. I highly recommend the hotel.

Tired hotel, needing updatingPosted Aug 3, 2012
Cons: Wrestling luggage down stairs at entry, lack of help with luggage
I have stayed at this hotel before, for other Dokumentas, and this time found it just a very tired place, little changed from prior visits though in need of some upgrading. The rooms are adequate and clean, and it is walking distance from Dokumenta.

A good experiencePosted Jul 21, 2012
Interesting 1950s hotel well located close to the centre of Kassel and Documenta. Clean room, with ample room for 3 of us.
Perfect documenta hotelPosted Jul 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a Bundesrepublic time capsule circa 1982, in the center of everything, plus host to a really fun video piece by Gerard Byrne. It feels essential to stay here.

A bit dated, but great, warm staffPosted Jun 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
Very happy with hotel. It needs updating, but has a German shabby chic feel to it. Great for Documenta. Easy walking distance to everything.

Large roomPosted May 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Single room was very larg when compaired to other places I've stayed. Comfortable bed and couch. Can get a bit loud but it didnt get in the way of sleep (I keep windows open and might have been better closed). Close to many attractions, places to eat, and local transport.
