“Great Location, Friendly Staff”

My stay at the Grand City Hotel was just one night. I was very happpy with all aspects of my stay. The hotel is on one edge of the Kassel center city and convenient to transportation, the tourist office and the pedestrian shopping zone as well as all major sites of interest to the tourist. Hotel staff speaks English. Though I did not have breakfast at the hotel, the breakfast buffet was extensive in the food choices. I would stay at the Grand City Hotel again and certainly recommend it.

“A good experience”

Interesting 1950s hotel well located close to the centre of Kassel and Documenta. Clean room, with ample room for 3 of us.

“A so so place”

The only thing going for them is that their location is convenient in the city center. I was visiting the Documenta 12, so the main exhibition halls were walking distance. The front desk people were very helpful.

“Tired hotel, needing updating”

I have stayed at this hotel before, for other Dokumentas, and this time found it just a very tired place, little changed from prior visits though in need of some upgrading. The rooms are adequate and clean, and it is walking distance from Dokumenta.
