An OK hotel close to the beachPosted Jul 5, 2014
Room air conditioner couldn't keep room cool during the day. Room was otherwise nice with a balcony over looking the pool. The pool was nice. The little wine and cheese restaurant had a live 3 person band which played too loud and ruined the ambiance. Not sure if I would return.

My night in Rocky pointPosted Apr 16, 2014
Cons: Everything.new carpet, parking lot,...........
Location: The beach. Wich is pretty far from the hotel.
The exterior of the hotel was very nice, but once you get inside the hotel everything was old. The carpet was dirty the smell was like when you get in an old house.when we hot in the room, the lamps where not working, they already had one lamp like the ones you use for a garage.the remot for the tv.did not function,(if you needed to control the tv, you had to do it manually) it was by far the worst stay at any hotel that I ever have been. stay away from that hotel.we where supposed to have sea view room, but it was not what I expected I was looking more toward a street.never going back to that hotel.

Clean, quiet & near the beachPosted Apr 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
I have always stayed at the Playa Bonita since I was a kid, but when I went to book a room there, they were all out. I found Laos Mar and saw it was located nearby, so I decided to try it. I'm glad I did. Laos Mar is right by the Playa Bonita and is part of the same resort complex. It is clean and quiet, located right off the beach and within (very short) walking distance of Playa Bonita and its restaurant. Laos Mar also has a very cute little wine and tapas bar attached to it. We didn't use the wading pool, but saw a family or two enjoying it while we were there. The staff was courteous and professional, our room was clean and well appointed ... really, what else could we want? We don't go in for paying resort fees and high prices for basically the same services when we plan to spend our vacation on the beach and in town - if you're like us, Laos Mar will serve your needs. It's also pretty easy to find due to good signage throughout town, it's close to little restaurants and food stands, ATV rental places, and relatively close to El Malecon shops downtown. A great place to stay in Puerto Peñasco.

Horrible experience - will NEVER GO BACKPosted Apr 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
We booked four nights. The first night, we were put in a dirty room with a broken air conditioner and only one towel for the two of us. The TV only got one station. The front desk clerk begrudgingly put us in a different room for the second night. This room was also dirty (hair in sink and tub, dirty carpet, rumpled sheets). The air conditioner worked, but the TV still only got one channel. At night, there was a grinding noise in the hallway which sounded like a water pump turning on and off. Between the noise and rock-hard bed, we got no sleep. The following morning, when we asked about the noise, the front desk clerk described it to us - obviously we were not the first to complain about it. We asked for another room (the hotel was just about empty!) and were told that we could not be moved. Meanwhile, the TV in the lobby got lots of stations - some of the cleaning staff were flipping channels, catching up on their telenovelas. We asked why the room TV's only got one channel and were told ALL the TV's only got one channel. (Which obviously was not true). The front desk clerk was unfriendly and unhelpful. We couldn't stand the thought of staying longer, even though we paid for four nights, we left after two. We've been to Mexico many times and always had good experiences at various hotels. This one was the worst. One. EVER.
