The pictures don't tell the story.

Pros: You can drink your own beer at the pool.
Cons: see above
Really disappointing, no hair dryer in room. Old Box TV that has 1 English station. Beds that were like sleeping on plywood. Smelly room, dirty room, no couch, wall air conditioner that doesn't cool properly. No ice machine, $1.50 a bag from the front desk. Hot tub wasn't heated. No WIFI on the 4th floor. Just generally old looking, and a place that they have not kept up with. If this is your spot great.... but for my family, we'll pay a little more and actually feel like we are on vacation.

Shabby hotel that needs updating

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: It's proximity to the beach
Cons: The overall cleanliness. The hotel needs air-conditioning throughout the general areas, not just in the bedrooms.
The hotel has no air conditioning in general areas so hotel was very humid inside. Thankfully the bedroom was air-conditioned. The hotel is very dated and in need of upgrading. Our room was not very clean and had no fridge or coffee/tea maker, as advertised. We were given only two, shabby looking old towels and there was no bath mat. We would advise saving your pennies and book into a better hotel - we will be doing so! Be warned the photos on the booking websites are not a true reflection of what the hotel is really like.

It's okay...

Some things that were just odd...our patio chairs were old plastic faded chairs versus the black rod iron chairs that were in all other balconies. They were fine but just found it odd. There wasn't a second door lock on the inside of the door- but there was a latch just the other half was missing, and I always feel safe when there is more than just the dead bolt present. One stall in the woman's restroom at the pool didn't have a lock on it. And After we checked out, we were told that we could still have access to the pool, which was nice, but we couldn't get a towel to use. So, we air dried. We didn't have wi-fi in the room so had to go to the lobby whenever we wanted to connect. So all in all, it could have been worse, but For $100 a night, I did expect better service and not so many broken things.

You get what you paid for.

this is a run-down hotel. the room is old and you only get about 2 english channels om tv. the pool is dirty. the best part is the free wifi which only works in the lobby.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Location: Take the Rey del Mar (pirate cruise ship) :)
Good beds, hai dryer, iron/ironing table, clean towels, they provide pool towels too, nice 2 pools, i wish they have a kids pool as well, right infront of the beach, you can buy your own beer or refreshments or food and nobody will bother you at the pool or at the beach ( i used to stay @penasco del sol hotel and they wont let you have drinks or food from outside) definitely stay at Playa Bonita again :)

Posted May 26, 2014
Price is about what you expect, not a lot of fancy things here, right on the beach, 2 pools, jacuzzi, not very comfy beds and bar/resturaunt but to be honest while you're there you won't sleep much anyways right? Haha def coming here again

My visit on May 5-8 2014

Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: Location, restaurant, free coffee and water, the BEACH
Cons: the mattresses and bedding!!!!
Location: This place if VERY centrally located and it is just a short drive to the Port area and a multitude of shops, bars and great restaurants. GREAT SEAFOOD
The only problem was the sheets were not fitted; so they kept bunching up ending up with me sleeping directly on the mattress which was somewhat disturbing. An upgrade of the mattresses would also be a BIG PLUS. The restaurant has GREAT food and drinks. The view and the BEACH is INCREDIBLE, Well worth the rates charged!!
