“Consider Staying Here!! It is a great value for your $$”
The hotel was so much more than I expected - even though near main roads it was quiet, even though it has been there for many years it was well kept, clean, and not run down. The complimentary breakfast was hot, well cooked and a pleasant surprise. The staff was superb - front desk clerk was cordial, helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff was friendly and when I returned to my room a flickering light in the bathroom was now in full working order (& I didn't mention it being a problem considering ti was Thanksgiving Day! I brought my pet and there were multiple ares for me to walk her. I will definitely stay there again!
“Best Western Fredericksburg VA”
the rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel staff were very nice and helpful and the hotel is located near a wonderful shopping area loaded with a mall and many restaurants. also, it is conveniently a 45min ride to the washington DC area.
“Better than expected”
The hotel cost a bit more than the budget hotels, but it was worth it. The room was comfortable and attractive. The bed was comfortable. The TV had a good picture and there were adequate cable channels. It was in a busy location, but it wasn't noisy as we were on the back side. We were on the top floor (third) and there was no elevator, but it wasn't bad. The bathtub plug didn't work well but everything else was very good.
“Great for pets”
Great stop over for those traveling I95 who have pets.
“It's our regular stop”
We stay at this hotel regularly -- one year it was more than 30 times -- on our trips from NY to VA and points sout. It's so easy, so convenient, and always reliably quiet and comfortable.
“Start of Summer!”
Convenient, clean, staff accommodating!
“Great value for the dollar.”
Breakfast was wonderful, staff was friendly, hotel very clean. Would definitely stay there again.
“Decent, cheap one-night stop”
I was looking for somewhere cheap to spend the night on a long road trip, and this was a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price (that I found on expedia using an iPad on free McDonald's wifi about half an hour north of Fredericksburg). The bed was somewhat stiff, the sheets actually didn't entirely cover the mattress, and they had some little black marks here and there - not sure from what. I didn't notice those until I was about to leave, otherwise I probably would've asked for a fresh set. Other than that, no problems with the room. The hotel felt like it should be a little mountain getaway, with a small, rustic feel to the lobby which was detached from the two buildings holding the rooms, which were all tucked away somewhat out of sight of the main road which was right out front (very easy access off the exit from I-95 - just have to know where to turn). Tons of shopping/dining in the area.
“This Motel Needs Major TLC!”
I usually can find something good to say about a stay at a Best Western, but not this time. Non-Smoking rooms were not available, so I can't really take issue with that, although I booked the room two weeks in advance. We were on the second floor, but since the motel is kind of on a hill, we had to walk up three flights of stairs; OK for people under 60--we aren't. I had booked a room with a king-size bed; we got a queen. Hotel didn't help us out on that one. The room was tired, and needed upgrading in a major way. Furniture was quite nicked up, and old. Silvering on mirror in bath area was quite worn. There were cobwebs (big ones) on one wall, and the towel racks and other chrome hardware looked water-spotted, not cleaned and polished from the previous guest. I did not try the breakfast, but there was bacon and eggs, coffee, and donuts. There are are only two little pedestal tables in the "lobby", essentially an old-fashioned check-in office with no other amenities. A maximum of four people at a time can eat there. This BW needs corporate oversight, and money put into it for major renovations to bring it up to the brand's name and standards. I have stayed in BWs all over the US and in Europe. This one needs help!
“Old & Broken”
Pros: Staff were helpful and courteous. Cons: Old, broken hotel. Bed sagged down in the middle by over a full foot (I weigh 200lbs), coffee maker was broken, bathroom fan broken. Sink would not drain--absolutely disgusting sink full of spit/water/
