“Good place to stay”

Have stayed here two times. It is a very nice economy motel. The housekeeping is absolutely perfect. Breakfast buffet is average but very adequate. The rooms are large--they have rooms with only one bed, and you have the whole area where the second bed could be placed as open living area.

“Good value, and good rooms”

Very reasonable priced hotel. Rooms are not fancy but they are large with plenty of open space, and have a real sofa and chair to sit on.

“Washington experience”

Days Inn Alexandria is very well situated for Metro travel into DC and for onward travel to Mount Vernon and towards other destinations. The Hotel was well kept, if a little tired, pleasingly quite and fully met my expectations for a budget Hotel. The surrounding area has all the facilities you could need and I would recommend Applebees as a bar/grill in the area, considereing it is a standard US chain. The service we received from both the Hotel and restaurant where excellent. Local people were also very helpful with things like buying a Metro ticket. All in all if you want ideally located budget accomodation in this fantastic area then if you get the same service as us you will be pleased.

“I'll stay there again”

The location was great, right off the interstate, close to Old Town Alexandria, golf course. The outside entrances is the biggest drawback.

“Nice place and good price for DC”

We stayed there for 4 days while visiting DC. They are near the metro stop (last stop on the yellow line) and they have complimentary service to the stop (you have to pay $5.00 for pick up, but it is better than parking fee). The hotel was clean and comfortable. The price was great for the DC metro area and I'd stay there again.

“Days Inn, a good value”

The neighborhood around the Days Inn South Alexandria has improved a great deal since the 1970s when that region was decidedly gritty. No doubt, the hotel is older, but it has been maintained well so that nothing negative attracts attention. I especially liked the front desk personnel, both of whom are intelligent, efficient, and professional. The room had upscale bed linens, but some of the towels in the bathroom were a bit rough. I had access to a computer, located in the lobby, where I could check emails daily. The breakfast room is pleasant, nicely furnished, and has a large TV mounted to the wall. There, I struck up conversations with several other guests, who were in town to see the Cherry Blossoms. Breakfast was okay. At least there was enough to eat, but it was spread out in several different areas, which made getting to all the items a bit awkward. But after all, it was a freebie, so I was delighted not to have to go out to forage for breakfast each morning. When I go back to Washington again, I will definitely stay at this Days Inn.

“Totally worth the money”

I was apprehensive before arriving with my 15 year old daughter and 16 year old son and only having 2 queen beds. We brought a blow up queen bed and everyone had their own bed. the hotel was very nice. The free Internet and breakfast were fine as well. I was able to stay for a week for half the price of most DC locations. Great location and convenient.

“DC trip”

We loved staying at the Day's in Alexandria South. It was a quick trip to DC which is where we went daily. We went with several other families and they all enjoyed the hotel.
