“Cold Indoor Pool”

The indoor was terrible and the staff was not very friendly and not very helpful. Would not go back to this hotel.

“Nice but not what I thought”

Said it had heated indoor pool, it was indoor but not heated. Kids didn't have fun cause they couldn't get in pool. The lay out of the hotel is not good for handicap accessible individuals. Parking was not condusive for checking in and checking out for to get room keys or return room keys.

“Can't wait to go back”

The hotel was at a very convenient location. The check in was done fast and in a very professional manner, even though I made the reservation through Expedia like 1 hour ago. The room was very clean, the comfort. The Sundom was the best. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly. I would go back to this hotel again, an I would recommend it to anyone who stops by in Washington, DC area.

“Doubletree”

Could not find or contact concierge the whole stay. But aside from that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was reasonably priced, and the free shuttle to the metro was very helpful.

“Crystal City Worked Great for Us.”

The hotel staff were more than happy to help with anything we needed and were very pleasing to deal with. Everyone had a smile on their faces. The amenities, gift shop, hotel restaurants and pool were all very well kept and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to save some money while vacationing in the DC area instead of paying DC prices over the river.

Area recommendations

Washington D.C., Georgetown, Capital Hill district. Lots of restaurant options and sightseeing galore!

“Pool rules”

Everything was ok but their pool rules are extreme. I took my kids and grandkids on vacation. The pool lifeguard was like a drill sgt. The kids couln't jump into the pool, step into the pool etc. sshe wanted everyone to go down the steps or use the ladder. We won't be going back to this hotel; even though every thing else was ok.

“Excellence in "directions" on how to use the Metro, seeing the city from the skydome, etc”

The staff at the DoubleTree went above and beyond assisting us. We were in the area to receive an award, and staff told us the best way to get there, what to see while in that area, how to get back to the hotel, how to use the Metro (first time for us) etc. Excellent shuttle service provided by the hotel.

Area recommendations

Crystal City was much quieter than D.C. Younger travelers might prefer somewhere "closer to the action". I would definitely come back to this area.

Getting around

The DoubleTree provided a shuttle to and from the airport and the Metro. Very helpful.

Must see

The DoubleTree Crystal City is very close to Arlington and we spent an entire day there. Very impressive.
