Quiet stay near Washington, D. C.

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Quiet enjoyment, outdoor swimming pool, location
Cons: Swimming pool water quality?
Location: Washington, D. C. is half-hour drive away
I wanted to have a quiet, not-expensive place not far from Washington, D. C. This hotel is approx. 20-30 minutes drive from Washington, D. C. downtown. The hotel has ample parking space, indoor and outdoor swimming pool (they are connected), free Wifi at the lobby. Swimming pool has life-guards on duty. It is not far from Annandale, VA, where you can find some good Asian restaurants.

Free Parking-Nice Hotel

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Free Parking & late checkout time.
Cons: Higher wattage hair dryers
This hotel was very comfortable. I liked that there was not a charge for parking & that the parking deck was connected by an elevator and walkway to the hotel. We were able to pick up a quick breakfast and coffee to take with us on the way out. Beds were very comfortable. The only issue we had was that the hair dryer was very slow to dry your hair. We called to see if we could get another one & they said that they would check to see if they had any different dryers & drop one by. We did not hear back. Other than that, it was a good hotel & I would stay there again.

Great deal! Can't beat it for 85 bucks a night. The free Wi-Fi made it even more worth it

Not Marriott Quality

Posted Jul 27, 2015
The employees upon checkin were very helpful. Parking ample, lobby is very nice. We were told that $50 a day would be held on our card and then released 2-5 days after departure. Our standard double room was very small but clean. There were stains on the rug,the tv did not get great reception, had very few channels, remote didn't work well. We were across from the ice machine and heard that all night. Very loud. The indoor pool connects to the outdoor pool and is nice and the lifeguards were friendly. Nice hot tub. This hotel is about 15 min drive into DC with no traffic which we discovered the day we left. We used the free shuttle service to the metro for 3 days, which needs major improvements. Its about 15 min. to dunn loring metro. The bus holds 10 people. It leaves once an hour, however, I was told due to families, it was leaving every half hour. Whoever runs on first, gets a seat. There is no order. We waited 50 minutes one day and 2 buses just to get to the metro. Same with way back. Spoke to someone at reception and she was less then helpful and really seemed more annoyed at my question then bending over backwards to help. We saw buses from other chains that were much larger. You are on metro for 20 min at least to get to the smithsonian metro. We spent an average of 2-3 hours every day waiting for rides, which really put a damper on our trip. The restaurant food is expensive for what it is and is sub par. It was ok, but I wouldn't Recommend to anyone.
