30 minutes via Metro from DC

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Great hotel and friendly shuttle drivers! The shuttle service to the Metro made it so we never had to use our car, which was awesome. We went with 2 kids and overall the 30 minute ride on the metro was not too bad.

Pros: It the best place and location for my needs.
Cons: ??
Location: ??
In Washington, D.C.??? I was there for a family reason; graduation, not to meet "lobbyists", or any other reason. It's a traffic mess. I will only return under family duress.

Overnight Visit

Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: Early check in so that I could take a nap after my flight.
Cons: Develop walking lanes in the parking lot. Pedestrians at risk while drivers are backing up blindly.
Location: Tyson's Corner, a large shopping mall is a few exits down the freeway. They have several small eating places that are tasty down highway 50.
I was there to visit my daughter who was staying as an inpatient at Fairfax Hospital which is 5 minutes away. The hotel staff was great, with a very fast check in even though it was 9am well before check in time. My room was easy to find, and was in excellent condition. It was quiet also. Their buffet in the morning had a cook to make your eggs/omelet or waffles as you waited. The parking was adequate with both an outdoor and indoor lot. The mattress was not excessively soft, actually a medium to hard which for me made for a great night's sleep. Check out was also fast. I rebooked the following weekend and found the same characteristics as the first time. Great clean hotel.

DC Weekend

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: The quiet park like setting, the cleanliness, and the friendly staff
Cons: Free Wi-fi and mini frig in the rooms
Location: 2.6 miles to closest metro Dunn Loring station, easy access to on and off ramps Washington DC, Manassas Battlefields, 1.5 hours from Luray Caverns.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this Hotel, however I wish there had been a mini frig in the room, and free wi-fi should be available at no charge. We were 2.6 miles from the metro at the Dunn Loring station and there was a parking garage, which made it very nice on the nights it was pouring rain, the hot tub and the indoor pool was very enjoyable. The hotel if off the busy area in a quiet park like setting. Would definitely recommend.

Big fan of Marriott usually

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Location Location Location The grounds and facility were on target. There was just no where to go by foot....except the beltway. Not a hotel that lent itself to anything local. Maybe that is the DC experience.

Great hotel close to DC.

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Awesome staff, can't say much more about them. Enjoy the angus burger at Ellipse restaurant as I did and you will be begging for another. King room was a little small and with a third person there is really zero room to move around. Very quiet though. Would stay again if I travel that way. Take metro from Dunn loring metro station for easy travels to and from DC.

A couple of days in DC with friends

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Nice room and facilities, quiet.
Location: Not a lot nearby, you'll need a car and/or take the courtesy bus to the Metro. Sunday you can park for free right near the Metro which gives you more
This is a nice hotel though a little remote. There's a courtesy bus to the nearest Metro station but timing jurneys with bus pickups can leave you waiting around for some time. The bar is expensive, we didn't dine as the dining room was shut but it lacked character anyway so we probably wouldn't have eaten there. The accomodation is fine but we maybe should have paid more to be nearer the centre or even a Metro station.

Location: Good location went to Great Falls National Park only took about 15-20 minutes.
Staff was very helpful. Free shuttle to nearest Metro stop, Food was surprisingly good at the restaurant. Sous chef extremely helpful and friendly, Kudos !

Easy location to Highway 50

Posted Jun 16, 2015
My favorite attribute to the hotel was the easy access to Highway 50 as I needed to travel 50E daily during my stay.
