Enjoyed our brief stay...save for noisy guests Posted Jul 23, 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Hampton Inn Cascades. We were so pleased to find a nice, pet friendly hotel in this area that didn't charge an arm and a leg ($0 vs $200 in pet fees at many hotels in the area) for our clean, well behaved small dogs to stay with us. The breakfast offerings were varied and nicely presented, and the staff seemed to do a great job keeping things replentished despite the crowds. The only dark cloud on our stay were noisy guests, in the hallways, lobby and outside, well after 1am. I don't know if there was a family reunion or a wedding going on, but there were LOTS of people who all seemed to know each other talking, running, yelling to each other, etc, especially in the interior corridors outside the guest rooms. I don't blame the hotel for this, and admit to making no call to the front desk to see if they could encourage the noise to stop, but hope that these sorts of rowdy groups aren't the norm at this location, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when needed in hopes that they aren't. Check in was easy and quick, although the representative was clearly so skilled at his job that he did it by rote and didn't ever make eye contact with me or make me feel like he was checking ME in, rather than just some person standing at his desk. Not a big deal...and he wasn't rude...but he could have been more friendly and welcoming, especially as the first person you talk to when arriving, which serves to set the mood and tone.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your feedback with me. I, as well as my team, are always looking for ways to enhance our guests’ experience. I am pleased to hear that there were certain aspects of your stay that you found enjoyable. I do want to apologize that it was not a complete success due to the noisy environment. There was, in fact, a family reunion staying at the hotel the weekend of your stay. However, the noise should have been controlled as not to disrupt any guests. Moving forward my team will be proactive in ensuring we have an action plan in place if we suspect any of our groups to be disruptive. Thank you again and I hope you will consider the Hampton Inn Cascades for any future visits to the area. Sincerely, Rebecca Leo General Manager
