This was our first time staying at the Hawthorn Suites. The staff were friendly,helpful and welcoming.Loved all the accomadations:shuttle,breakfast,parking, internet access,clean rooms,etc. Will stay here again

“Very Pleased”

We were very pleased with this hotel. I did not have a lot of expectations as I knew it was not highly rated. However, it turned out to be perfect for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast and the 4 nights of a free light meal were a happy surprise. The shuttle to the Metro was complimentary and very convient for us to go into D.C. While the rooms were not large they were fine, as we did not spend a lot of time in them anyway. We were there to see the sights, We were able to visit in the evening in the dining room. The only complaint was the small bathrooms and the slow elevators, but they were okay for a week. We had an enjoyable time and yes , I would recommend this hotel unless you expect a lot of luxury. In that case go somewhere more expensive.

A good choice and convenient for visits to D.C. attractions. Good breakfast and ok dinners included in price. Good choice for families. Overall, a bit better than I expected. Staff was great and helpful with directions, etc.

“Lots of Perks”

We were ple. asantly surprised by all the perks the hotel provided. Free shuttle to and from the metro station - so we could leave our car at the hotel. A great hot breakfast with eggs, pancakes, waffles, french to toast and a variety of different breakfast meats every morning. Monday through Thursday they even provided a complimentary light dinner. The hotel had a friendly family atmospehere and we met many nice people from different states and countries. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the service very friendly. We would go back to the Hawthorne Suites in a heartbeat.

“A nice experience”

My wife and I were in Alexandria/Washington DC for a weeklong conference, and had a very nice experience here. The room was big, and had everything from oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, mugs and dishes, etc. I didn't expect the room to be so nice ... and it was 50 dollars less than a less-equipped room at another top hotel chain at Alexandria. I am happy to get the Winter Sale deal at Expedia. By the way, the hotel also has complimentary Internet, free parking, and also free breakfast and dinner. The hotel is doing a lot of renovations ... so they don't have their restaurant open, but you can pick up breakfast and dinner from a room next to the lobby. There is a printer/computer (usage is free!) and also a fridge full of all kinds of frozen food for purchase.

“Excellent Hotel”

Excellent Rooms, even the Junior Suites are very nice. They have recently undergone renovations, and the rooms are spectacular.
