Pros: I liked the easy access to the metro if needed, and the proximity of restaurants and stores by the hotel.
Cons: It would be nice for guests that are staying for a long period of time 5+ days, that they would discount the parking fee.
Location: Restaurants, bars, Ballston Mall (which includes a movie theatre), and a 7-10min walk to metro station that can take you into DC and surrounding areas
Check-in was easy and quick, the room was very nice and comfortable. It was very convenient for me because it was walking distance to where I was taking classes and everything else I needed. It was great not worrying about driving around in traffic! The only negative I have is the parking. They are up front to tell there is a parking fee, so if you are not planning to drive to the hotel or if you are driving and only staying for a weekend it's fine, but if you are driving and planning to stay for 5+ days, that amount can really add up and you may want to look at other hotels that have free parking in the area.

We'll Be Back Next Year

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Location: It is three blocks from the Metro, on a gentle hill. Therefore it is 'close' to everything you'd want to see and do. People always willing to help!
We come to DC at least once a year. We got the Ballston Holiday Inn as part of a hotel and airfare deal after staying in another hotel the last few years. We were very pleased. It's an easy walk to the Metro and restaurants--there are many restaurants, but also a food court in the lower level of the nearby shopping mall, and it's open early for breakfasts. The hotel itself is all you could want a hotel to be. All the staff were polite and attentive to your needs. We had a wonderful housekeeper who did exactly what we wanted. (We were there for five nights, so spread all our 'stuff' out and didn't want anyone trying to move it around for cleaning, only wanted towels changed and light bathroom cleaning, and that's exactly what we got.) The duvets in hotels are always so heavy, and I asked for a blanket right away, and it was there in a very short time, so we were able to put the duvet away and sleep comfortably. The washers and dryers on the second floor worked well and were only a dollar per load. The breakfast buffet is $14+, but you can get eggs, toast, bacon, and potatoes from the menu for $6+/-. I also learned that if you're not staying at the hotel as part of a deal you can get a discounted rate with their Pay Now and Save Later plan by calling their reservations. We felt safe walking around the area both daytime and evening. Oh. It was very quiet.

Gordon - Ballston Holiday Inn - Feb 13

Pros: Everything.
I enjoyed the convenience of location for the Holiday Inn Ballston, Arlington, VA. It was short walking distance from my classroom and the Ballston Mall that houses eating places, shopping, and a really nice movie theater. The hotel staff and restaurant were fabulous.

Nice hotel for business travel

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Comfy and spacious lounge/work area.
Cons: Elevators required hotel card to operate, which was good for safety, but I found it was inconsistent between the elevators.
Location: Dining. Ballston shopping center and Cinema.
Hotel was located very conveniently for my business and there were a lot of restaurants within walking distance and ranged from quick sandwich shops, chain restaurants and upscale dining choices. I didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, but the amenities were nice and was very comfortable for the price.
