“Great Room, Bad Location, Staff - no knowledge of area, Great Price”

The room was great; health club and pool great, buffet breakfast normal, very dog friendly. Only one decent restaurant close (Indian - very good). There is a restaurant in the attached Embassy Suites that has a full bar - but you are basically eating in a hotel lobby. Location is "middle of nowhere". The problem is when you ask for information or help or directions from the front desk they don't know. When it is the first time in the area you need a little help. If someone would coach the staff, it could be a real find.

Reston to eat; Waterford Craft Festival - first week in October

The Indian restaurant (you can walk) is great and pretty - if you like Indian food (I do)

“Nice Hotel Near Dulles”

This hotel had a clean room (and I'm a freak about that!), and a very nice hot breakfast in the morning. The staff was friendly. It is a long trek into DC for sightseeing, but if you are looking to be close to Dulles (or don't mind a drive) this would be great.

“Very Comfortable & Clean Hotel”

Extremely clean and comfortable - Close enough to the Washington DC Area where it's only a few miles/mins. Reasonable prices. Only flaw was the batteries were dead in one of the remotes. No big deal.

Area recommendations

I really didn't notice a neighborhood in the area. This Hotel is fairly isolate in the country.

Must see

If you are staying in this Hotel you must spend a couple of days in Washington DC around the Mall area. Visit all the museums.

“Will Return!”

Great location for West Washington visit. Longer travel time into city but great rates. Connection to Embassy Suites and their amenities was great feature. Nice surrounding area. Close to Air and Space but not too noisy indoors.

“Great Hotel off the beaten path”

This hotel was AWESOME. The room was very clean and the hotel was very well maintained. The hot breakfast was very good every morning and there was a variety of choices. The evening reception was also very nice and the food was good. The front desk staff was very helpful. My only complaint would be the shuttle service...we had to wait for long periods each time we called for a ride. We were told it ran every 15 minutes but the was never true. It is also too bad that there are not many places to eat or shop nearby. We walked about 2 miles to the nearest grocery store.

“A home away from home.”

It was nice and clean. Hotel served continental breakfast every morning and dinner on weekdays. An excellent place for the whole family to stay.

I recommend Washington D.C. and Luray Cavers on the Shenandoah mountain.

“Great Spring Break Trip to DC”

We took our family of four to DC for Spring Break. This hotel was a our home base for five days. We loved having a kitchen/living room in addition to the bedroom. We enjoyed a complementary breakfast every morning before heading out for sightseeing. They also serve a hot dinner in the evening, but we only ate there one night. (It was delicious. ) We appreciated having laundry facilities on site so we didn't have to lug home piles of dirty clothes. The children enjoyed the indoor pool. Overall, it was a super hotel for our family.

“Good.”

We ended up not staying at the homewood--gave us wrong room so they upgraded us to the embassy suites. Good deal.
