Close to the Metro, walking distance to Georgetown

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Price, very close to the Metro and walking distance to Georgetown.
Cons: Better food at the restaurant. The rooms are a bit old, but that is to be expected. The staff was wonderful.
Location: We went into the Smithsonian every day. Didn't really visit Arlington that much.
We were quite pleased with the accomodations. The bath tub stopper was disconnected. I would not recommend the restaurant on the 2nd floor. We did not think it was very good.

Pros: Bedding was soft, nice linen. Clean, quiet and near the metro
Cons: Mirrors in the gym so when on the treadmill clients can see people entering the room. As a single women working out late I was uncomfortable.
Location: Easy access to DC and Georgetown

Lacking in room service, especially given price

Posted Oct 16, 2014
I reserved a business plan room, but was disappointed that I had to ask for some of the benefits the business plan comes with like two complimentary water bottles each day. Also, essential supplies like toilet paper, toothpaste, and shampoo were not replenished in my room. I expected better service for the rate and plan. Staff were pleasant in the lobby and restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good and I did like the cage-free egg option. The omelet chef was my favorite personality on the staff.

Our families first time in the DC area. Entire staff is very kind and professional. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. One tip to save money. If your going to tour the capital area and your family doesn't mind walking once there, take a cab. A few of the hotel bell hops are Big Bus sales agents. They sold us on buying Big Bus passes. We discovered the routes were not time convenient at all. To much sitting at stops. Long routes in between stops. Despite paying $150 for 4 two day passes we blew off the bus half way through the first day. Live and learn I guess. $10 cab ride to the Washington Monument, pretty much the center point of all attractions, from this hotel. Enjoy the day walking and then a $10 cab ride back. $18 cab ride to Reagan Airport. I will stay here next time for sure.

Pros: The restaurant. The breakfast buffet was tasty and generous. The evening meals were great. Proximity to the Metro. That was very convenient.
The room was small. We like to play cards after dinner, and it was difficult playing on a corner of the desk. There was no suitable space in the uninviting lobby. The mattress had a permanent depression on the side next to the night stand. When I complained, the service was very courteous and prompt - they substituted a new mattress during the day when we were out - but still, this shouldn't be necessary at a Hyatt.

Welcome to Munchkin Land

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Nice hotel overall with good amenities.
Cons: Real beds for real people.
The room was on the small side, but nicely appointed. The bed was tiny. They put my wife and I in one double bed. I asked about the size at the front desk and was told that "prepaid reservations were only guaranteed a room that would accommodate the number of people on my reservation. All the rooms with king beds went to the cash customers". Somehow, I expected more from the Hyatt than to be treated like a second class citizen.
