Cons: Hotel charged WAY too much for parking. There's parking garages all around and parking is pretty cheap everywhere else except at the hotel.
Had a great stay at Kimpton Hotel in Old Towne, Alexandria. Hotel was right in the middle of everything so we had easy access to everything. We didn't need our call the whole weekend because the hotel was in a great location.

Cons: Heating/cooling system a bit noisy.
Great location, helpful staff, wine reception, small comfortable rooms, bar and grill, regretfully it closed rather early

Convenient to Old Town

Pros: Beauty and convenience
We lived in Old Town when the hotel was built and knew the owner, so coming back held some nostalgia for us.

A Lovely, Quiet Place to Stay

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Everything -- the location is so convenient. The hotel and rooms are clean and elegant. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
Location: You can walk to historical sites and century-old churches and cemeteries. Spend a few hours in The Torpedo Factory, an amazing art center.
This is a great hotel. The entire staff was very helpful, the rooms are lovely, and you can walk everywhere in Old Town Alexandria. Alexandria has a free hop-on, hop-off trolley so getting around town is quick and easy. The drawing room and library are elegant. The wine reception gives you a chance to take a break around five and meet your fellow guests if you wish. I know you'll enjoy your stay in a great city just outside of the District.

Unbelievable Service and Conditions

Posted Mar 23, 2014
This was the, hands down, best experience I have had at any hotel in the United States. The butlers were extremely professional and friendly. The hotel agrees to keep our luggage in storage for a late flight. Whine hour was a great opportunity to meet and greet with other visitors. The location is in convenient proximity to the DC metro as well as superb dining and night life in old town. Although we didn't spend a great deal of time in the room, it was very luxurious. The lock on our door malfunctioned and the hotel remedied the issue before we had time to worry. Overall A+ experience.

All the Amenities and Great Location

Posted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: We liked everything!!
Cons: We just wanted a longer stay.
Location: Many restaurants are to be recommended, it is easy to take the Metro to DC. There is a yoga studio right around the corner.
The staff at the Morrison House are very friendly and helpful. When you don't want to stay in your room, you can use the very tastefully decorated reading room or wine tasting room. Every time, we met interesting people. There were also good appetizers to go with the wine. Beautiful fresh orchids were in the common areas. This hotel is in the middle of King Street. There are many great restaurants and shops. Walk to the Metro or take the free trolley. The Morrison House rooms have a yoga mat you can use, as well as blocks and other props upon request. They also provide an umbrella in each room. Upon your return to the room at night, your room has been cleaned, the ice bucket is full, and chocolates are on the bedside table. We want to come back!

Get abused at 3:00 am by wedding revelers

Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: small boutique feeling, historic house, antique furnishing, piano bar, nice restaurant
Cons: get rid of weddings (the hotel is not big enough for it). hire polite staff
A formerly nice boutique hotel has beed totally RUINED by Kimpton. The last two times we stayed here the entire public space in the hotel was rented out to wedding parties. This is normally OK in big hotels but the Morrison is the size of a big house. The rude staff informed us that after 6 pm there is NO lobby, NO bar, NO RESTAURANT... it is all rented out to the wedding party. At 3:00 am drunk people knocked on our door screaming "room service" thinking they were playing some prank on their friends, unaware that other guests were there beside the wedding. We complained to reception, and got a very ignorant rebuke... "I can't help you unless I know there is a problem, this is the first time I am hearing about it." They have lost control of their hotel. Bad staff, bad deal, small rooms... which feel a lot smaller at 3 am when some drunk jerks are knocking on your door. This is not a random rant, this has happened twice now, one year apart so we are never going back.

Easy access to DC

Posted Jan 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our stay at Morrison House was extremely pleasant. Everyone was very helpful. This hotel is only 8 blocks from the train station into DC. Very easy on and off. Also there is a free trolley in Alexandria that will take you to the train station and then back close to the hotel.
