Simple but Sufficient

Posted Sep 12, 2014
Pros: Location, price, non-smoking.
Location: Close to Metro station for access to Washington DC.
I needed a non-smoking room in the Washington DC area that was near a Metro station. I was also doing this at the last minute and did not want to spend a lot. The motel fit the bill well. It was a small room but I was alone so it worked fine for me. I was there for two nights. I also appreciated the elevator. Most motels at this rate level do not have one. If you need other extras, go somewhere else.

Not the worst place, but not the best place

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The only thing I liked about the hotel was that it was within walking distance to a testing location I was supposed to attend for a potential job.
Cons: Water pressure, ice machine, a bathroom in the lobby would be nice.
Location: The metro is about a mile away. Restaurants are on the way. 7-11 for your basic food and drink needs.
This was my second trip to D.C. and my stay here was more mediocre than I was expecting. For starters, I drove down from NYC. I wasn't expecting to check in early, but was AT LEAST expecting to be able to use a bathroom by the time I got there. Their lobby didn't have a bathroom. I didn't like that much at all. They allowed me to leave my car parked while I walked about a mile to the metro station where I could use a bathroom. Not fun. I returned from the city center after check in to get my room. The room itself was very nice, clean and well lit, however, it didn't have a fridge or a microwave. To get those, you needed to book an upgraded room. The ice machine on my floor (3rd floor) was busted so I had to go downstairs to get ice. The water pressure in the bathroom was lacking pretty bad. Comparing this hotel to others I've stayed at in the past FOR THE SAME PRICE, I got a lot less than I bargained for. This hotel was just renovated. They need to work on a little more.

Fits the bill

I am a relatively easy man to please, and affordability was my first priority. I was happy. Clean, comfortable room with the basics and a friendly staff. It did lack a coffee maker and hair dryer/iron but the coffee was free in the lobby and I had no formal places to be. You do have to drive about a mile to the Metro Station at the end of the yellow line on Huntington St. It was $4.95 all day parking in a well-lit parking garage. From there is was 30 minutes into the city. As long as your expectations match your pocketbook, you should be happy here. I would visit again.

Old building

Posted Jul 11, 2014
I had a standard king room and the AC unit was so loud I couldn't sleep. The room was very small. Hotel staff was very nice and upgraded me to a premium room. The rooms may have gotten a facelift but you can tell that the building is still very old.
