Pros: Everything was good. Parking was convenient. Will probably stay again on our next trip.
Cons: No suggestions
Location: Good location to walk anywhere in Alexandria, and is only a short train ride to the DC attractions.
Our second stay at this Hotel. Clean, comfortable room, excellent breakfast each morning, close to Whole Foods, Restaurants, and the Metro. For the most part the Staff was professional and friendly. The young desk guy who checked us in was rude, short sentenced, not helpful, and seemed to resent even the minor inquiries concerning our stay.

Wonderful staff! Perfect location!

Posted May 8, 2014
Pros: The staff, in particular, as well as the handy location.
Cons: Furnishings in the rooms could be updated...the rooms feel a bit outdated. Didn't like the bedding, either...
Location: King Street in Old Town Alexandria is right nearby, with amazing shopping and dining. Close to a Metro station and easy to get to DC.
The desk staff as well as the housekeeping staff in this hotel were outstanding - competent, polite and friendly. The location is ideal - it is close by a Whole Foods grocery store, as well as a fantastic jazz lounge, and a great breakfast/lunch restau nearby. The neighborhood is pleasant, and the rooms were comfortable. Our room featured a kitchenette, which was great! The hotel is situated near King Street - about 2 blocks away - and it was easy to walk down to all the fantastic shops and restaurants and pubs in Old Alexandria. It is also only two blocks to a Metro station. We highly recommend the hotel. The rooms feel a tad dated, but everything is very clean, and the staff made it such a memorable experience! There is also a free breakfast in the morning, as well as free meals on some evenings.

Nice place to stay

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The rooms were pleasantly quiet, clean and well kept.
Cons: Other than the breakfast this is a very nice place.
Location: Excellent location to use the subway to discover the sights of Washington DC, walking distance to all the restaurants in Old Alexandria.
Do not expect a decent breakfast. Even though they go the extra mile and provide silverware and real dishes they put the same things on your plate as they do in every other less expensive hotel - processed eggs, cardboard waffels etc. - the "Full Breakfast" on the booking is clearly false advertisement. So, if you do not expect a full breakfast as you may know it from other Marriott hotels you will certainly enjoy the stay. The location is great, it is a very quiet hotel and allows for a good night sleep, it is clean and the parking garage is a good place for the car if you do not need it for the duration of your stay (it is US$ 18.00 per night though). It it is a closed garage with self parking.

Great hotel close to many destinations

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Close to shopping, dining and Metro station
Cons: You could tell that some of the furniture could use updating along with some of the walls need to be repainted
Location: King Street shopping and dining were just a few blocks away with many great choices of places to eat. The Metro is right out the front door.
We recently visited DC for the first time. . We had the 2 bedroom suite. This worked great for our family of 5. The room was very spacious for our needs and the extra room with the sitting area was great when family from DC was visiting. The room was very clean but you could tell that some of the furniture was ready to be replaced. King Street and King Street Metro stop were right there for all our dining and transportation needs. It was also nice to have the hotel shuttle to pick you up on King St after dinner or shopping. The Metro was very easy to use and took us every where we wanted to go. The morning breakfast was a great way to start our day. The food is typical hotel breakfast food but it served it's purpose. We would stay here again on our next visit.
