Shoppers heaven

Posted Aug 4, 2014
I had a slumber party/shopping trip for my birthday at the Ritz. It turned out great! I booked the shopping package. As a bonus the hotel gave me a $50 gift card and free breakfast for 2. The breakfast actually severed 4. The location is excellent...all we had to do was walk out the back door and we were in the mall.

My family and I were treated like royalty.

Posted Jul 28, 2014
My family and I were visiting Washington, DC for the weekend and decided to stay here. We could not be happier with our stay. We were given an earlier check-in time because we got in to town earlier than expected and our room was made available to us almost immediately. The staff is professional and very friendly no matter where you find yourself in the hotel. We ordered breakfast the next morning to be brought up to our and everything we ordered was fresh and still hot. I ordered and enjoyed the most delicious Belgium waffle I have ever had anywhere. We will definitely be returning to this establishment. Thank you for a great weekend!!

Pros: Comfortable room, great staff.
Location: Upscale shopping and dining are all right there.
Connected to the shops and restaurants at Tyson's Corner, the Ritz is super convenient for shopping.

All good except housekeeping staff took (by mistake) a personal pillow my wife had brought from home and it was not found and returned to us after waiting about an hour for staff to find and return it. We left our address with front desk so pillow can be mailed if found.

Disappointing, not the usual Ritz Stay

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: We really enjoyed the entertainment each evening in the bar. On Friday was a delightful jazz group and on Saturday even better Latin guitars.
Cons: Staff helpfulness and cleanliness of hotel. Litter everywhere . Apple core stayed in elevator for two days. Beds not as comfy as other Ritz hotels.
Location: Wonderful shopping at the Galleria, close to DC and Olde Town Alexandria.
My husband and I escaped for a getaway weekend expecting the Ritz pampering and classy environment. Found the hotel to be just ok or good when expecting a Ritz to be excellent in every way. My daughters and I visited this hotel about 7 years ago and had a much better stay. Disappointing for a Ritz. Staff-When checking in I was asked if I was a Marriot Rewards member. I replied yes but did not have my card or number with me. I was told to call when I found my number. Other times staff have looked my up in system and applied reward points. Cleanliness - Trash left around...candy wrappers on tables and floor. Even an apple core laid in elevator for two days. Entertainment in the evening was a pleasure. Drinks were pricey...$16/glass of wine for a wine that cost $24 dollar a bottle.
