The VirginianPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: It was so wonderfully quiet, and had ample parking for our car, even tho' we didn't arrive until after 8 pm
Cons: Not a thing
Location: Did not participate, was just there overnight.
Since we had a 7:55 a.m. flight to the West Coast, leaving from in an unfamiliar area, we chose the Virginian based on its proximity to the airport. The check in was easy, the printed directions to get to Reagan Airport were concise and re-explained verbally.

very nice hotelPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Close to Rosslyn (Artisphere, etc.) at a very good price. Nicely decorated, clean, quiet.
Cons: Can not think of anything.
Selected based on location, price (low) and user reviews. Got far more than I expected. Very clean and nicely decorated. Our room was very quiet. This will be my first pick the next time I go up. Easy walk to Rosslyn over the bridge. For someone not used to D.C. roads and driving, this hotel can be a little tricky to get to. Plan your drive.

Close to the WWII Memorial.Posted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: Big kitchenette with large refrigerator, large room with computer desk, coffee table, large walk in closet, spotless and modern bathroom.
Cons: Pretty happy with the place.
Location: Close to the Barrycaded WWII Memorial.
Purchased the room on Expedia for my DC trip - Million Vet March on the Memorials to support our WWII vets. Very happy with the hotel choice! If you are planning to be in town for a couple of days, these rooms have a really nice kitchen with a full size refrigerator, microwave, think it had a stove-top, real plates and eating utensils. Free WiFi. Pretty much all the comforts of home.

Enjoyable StayPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Service, Room
Cons: make certain that the room has all the things needed. stopper for sink, etc.
Location: Location is excellent. Whole foods is near. Metro is near, Georgetown, etc.
We enjoy staying At Virginia Suites. It is always a pleasant experience. This time I pointed out some things that needed to be fixed. This matter was taken care of immediately. Great place to stay. The hotel is willing to correct any problems.

Has Potential......Posted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: Full kitchen was nice. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Public spaces were not very inviting. Could have used room service.
Location: Not much within walking distance
Arrived around 9:30 pm without having had dinner first. No restaurant at the hotel and none within walking distance. Front desk staff was able to provide options for delivery. From the outside and in the lobby & hallway's, hotel seem dated and definitely like a refurbished apartment building. Room was surprisingly comfortable. Ran the hot water for 20 minutes in the morning and it wouldn't get past "warm". Front desk said it was due to timing and hot water usage by others and to give it a little longer. Didn't have time to wait around. Water finally got hot when I was washing my hands before walking out the door.

Great location, great servicePosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: Location, size of room and cleanliness
Cons: WIFi connection was erratic.
Location: Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, Big Bus Tour of DC, Newseum, Georgetown.
The suites are within easy reach of the Rosslyn Metro and the hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from the station, also to Safeway supermarket. We had a double bed and sofa bed (both very comfortable with good linen) in our huge room with a full kitchen, spotless bathroom and dressing room, so bags of room to unpack and realx. Wifi was free but a bit erratic but was also available in the lobby with free printing facilities. The laundry was a great convenience, too, with washing machines for $2 and driers for $1.75 for 45 minutes. The front desk staff gave change for both. They were unfailingly polite and helpful and stored our bags for the day on our departure day. There was a littel noise from the nearby Reagan Airport but it did not bother me at all. The aircon was also a little noisy but nothing to complain about.

Convenient location and spacious roomsPosted Sep 15, 2013
I stay at Virginian Suites every time I can when I'm in DC. It is convenient to Arlington and downtown DC. Spacious rooms with large common room with office area, living room area, and dining area. Separate well-equipped kitchen. Separate large bedroom. Only complaint was a rattle in the air conditioner, but I was able to make it stop rattling. Otherwise, the staff was excellent and the stay was great.

Great hotel, close to Iwo Jima MemorialPosted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: Super clean--huge rooms
Cons: Bathroom countertop is the ONLY thing I can think of!
Location: Near Iwo Jima, Arlington Cemeter and metro station...restaurants close by. Little neighborhood grocery store a couple minutes away--great convenience.
Have stayed I the hotel before, this time went because my father was ill. Hotel is close to his condo. Staff always very friendly. Older hotel but updated and very very clean. Suites are huge. HUGE. Kitchens fantastic. Bathrooms don't have counterspace for curling irons, etc, but they did put in a glass shelf for cosmetics/toiletries. Tile is bright and clean. Shuttle bus to metro station which is very convenient. Metro station is close enough to walk to and we always walked. Breakfast buffet adequate: fruit, hard boiled eggs, bagels, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. not great for gluten intolerant people like me, but for $6 can't complain. Computers available with printers in a few locations. Wi FI also. Coffee in lounge at all times, fresh cookies in the afternoons... Super nice place to stay in quiet neighborhood, great views. We've stayed there before and will stay there again.

Very convenient for long stayPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: I loved the infused ice water and coffee in the lobby and the nightly cookies. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: Housekeeping is subpar. Need more lights in the parking lot.
Location: It's a 10-15 minute walk to the Metro and bus stops, which makes it easy to get everywhere. We walked into Georgetown (about 1/2 hour each way).
We stayed here twice in the last month. Nothing fancy, but it's very convenient having a kitchen and laundry facilities. These are old studio apartments, and aren't in perfect shape. The tile work in the bathrooms is below par for a typical hotel room, but pretty typical for an older apartment in or around DC. The cleaning staff is inconsistent. They sometimes dropped trash on the floor, and once left us 3 floor mats and no bath towels. They don't have any attention to detail. On the plus side, the kitchens are well equiped, the pre-packaged breakfasts are good, the front desk staff is friendly and helpful, and I love that they put out water and coffee in the lobby, and cookies every evening. There was a very international mix of guests while we were there, including a large extended family from Egypt.
