Very nice, close to everything

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Clean, modern, spacious, conveniently located.
Cons: Long line waiting for prkng valet, so we drove into the garage and parked. Didn't realize it's "valet only" for a fee. We moved to the street.
Location: Near George Washington Univ; several restaurants and Starbucks. Trolley goes to Old Towne.
Stayed for one night as a treat because we helped our daughter move to a new apartment.

Great hotel next to Old Town Alexandria

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Cons: internet included
Location: Very close to Metro. Walking distance to Old Town!
Good food, great valet, very well-run front desk. The room was a little dusty and the shower curtain smelled like mildew. I don't like higher-end hotels like this that make you pay for Internet! I can get it free at Holiday Inn!!

Nice hotel - but not really near anything

Posted Jun 25, 2014
I stayed here as other hotels at the National Harbour were full for a conference I was attending there. Convenient location for the short hop across the bridge, but it's quite a long walk in the evenings to downtown Alexandria where you'd want to spend time. For this reason, it wasn't ideal for me as I wasn't keen on paying for cabs. If you need to get into DC, the metro is very close by - a 5 minute walk - for the red and the blue lines. You could easily commute into DC while on a trip from here.

Overbooked

The hotel room was paid in advance but the hotel was overbooked and I was sent to another hotel without apology. The second hotel was not equivalent. Will not recommend Westin.

Short vacation

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Rooms were clean Facility was well maintained Staff was nice
Cons: Pool hours Shuttle access
Location: You need to walk 10 to 15 minutes to reach any thing other than offices. The shuttle can get you to old town Alexandria and the metro.
We went for a long weekend. The hotel was nice and clean. We were given vouchers for breakfast and the meals were very good. I was disappointed that the pool hours were very restrictive. It seemed the hours were designed for business people only. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the metro. The use of their shuttle was not very dependable. I would stay again but probably consider another hotel first.

Just a little off the beaten path

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The beds, the showers, the weight room was nice but the pool was a little small
Cons: On Saturday morning there were empty wine glasses in the hall that housekeeping had not picked up yet. This was really the only thing I noticed about
Location: Tons of restaurants and art galleries. We rode the metro into D.C. and went to the Smithsonian. It cost us around $4.00 and took around 30 minutes.
Everything about the hotel was pleasant. It was a little further from the Olde Towne district than I had anticipated but we had use of the hotel shuttle and the driver was extremely friendly and courteous. He gave us his # and he would be wherever we were at within 10 minutes of calling him. He took his job very seriously and made sure we were taken care of.
