The Westin Arlington Gateway is situated in the energetic, mixed-use urban center of Ballston, just a 2-block stroll down tree-lined streets from the Ballston Common Mall. Arlington National Cemetery, The Pentagon, and Georgetown are all within 4 miles. The National Mall is 5 miles away.
Pinzimini, a modern Italian steakhouse, serves high-quality grilled meats and Tuscan-accented salads and pastas. A 24-hour health club with state-of-the-art equipment is located on the third floor, with skyline views of Arlington. “Washington DC trip”
Since the Westin Arlington is located outside of the city, it was less expensive than staying downtown for a very nice hotel. The location was convenient to the subway and in a safe neighborhood. we had no problem getting around.
“Very comfortable”
Nice room, very comfortable, upscale feel, nice continental breakfast, helpful staff. The neighborhood is a bit dull but if you need to be in the area it's fine. It's a quick walk to the Metro and from there just a few stops to better areas for dinner, so don't let the location stop you unless you really feel you must be in the heart of action.

“Loved the Hotel, Not the Location”
The hotel was wonderful. Eveybody was very helpful and the hotel was kept in great condition. The only problem is there is NOTHING to do anywhere around the hotel. There are only a couple of places to eat and there is no shopping or anything in the area. (Other than a small mall with a Macy's and not really anything else.) The hotel was great, but I would not recommend it at all due to the location. You are going to have to take the M to do anything. MAJOR DIAPPOINTMENT!

i travel often and stay in no less than 4 star hotels for the most part..this westin i would say is close to being 4.5 because of its age,but when i have bussines in washington i will stay at this arlington hotel.i always book through expedia...
“The perfect place to stay!”
The hotel is a prime location when your son lives in Arlington but commutes to work/school in Georgetown. Right on the metro line, close to the bus stop, walking distance to so many restaurants, walking distance to a mall, walking distance just to walk! walking distance to my son's place...should I go on?? The hotel has a Starbucks inside for the perfect coffee and sweet roll for breakfast as you run to catch the metro to DC. Clean, friendly--I would stay again in a heartbeat. Just the perfect location with wonderful service.

Very friendly, respectful, helpful staff, including the front desk and concierge in the lobby, the baristas at the in-house Starbuck's, the staff in their delicious Pinzimini restaurant, and the parking valets. (Valet parking was the only option, and there was an extra charge for that at the end of my stay.) There was a mix-up when I tried to check out very early in the morning, which delayed my exit from the parking garage. It was easily resolved, but was a minor inconvenience.

Always the best price for name brand business hotel in Arlington. Close to Gov't offices, metro, food, shopping.
