Clean with several restaurants and Metro is close

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Cons: aged stuff in room. Air didn't work as well as we would have liked
Location: Very nice location, 3-4 blocks off of I-66
Nice enough, just not as nice as Westin's in my experience. Nothing bad

Nice hotel within walking distance of the metro.

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Cons: Some nights the air conditioner didnt feel as cool as it should have been for a warm summer night and to get the room to a comfortable temp.
Location: There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance. There is P.F. Chang's across the street. The metro is about 2 or 3 blocks from the hotel.
The hotel very well appointed. The staff could not have been more friendly and hospitable. The room was really nice and very clean and comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was amazing. The large flat rain shower head made for wonderful showers after a long day in the heat. The beds were insanely comfortable. After my wonderful shower at night, I was out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow. The hotel has a starbucks that connects to the lobby. It was wonderful to get starbucks when I wanted. Overall a very nice hotel.

the nicest staff I've ever met

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: great service, nice location.
Location: the location is convenient, and is connected by a garden and pathways to many shops. there is a shopping mall across the street, anchored by Macy's.
This hotel not only is centrally located, it has the most obliging staff I've ever come across.

Our first trip to Arlington, Va.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: everything
Cons: As mentioned, it would be helpful to print directions, how North Glebe changes from South Glebe, on your website.
Location: We were walking distance to the metro system, which was a nice experience in itself. We don't have that type of public transportation in our area.
My husband, myself and our rat terrier had a very nice time while visiting your hotel. It was amazing to me how concerned all the staff was to make sure we were comfortable. We had a problem finding North Glebe, and I would recommend having directions on your website. My husband could not understand the staff member to follow his directions, simply because of his ethnic background. Once he spoke to David, he drove directly to the hotel. Thanks again for being a pet friendly hotel.

The room was great and a perfect location.

Loved the room and the proximity to the metro. The pool was a little on the gross side though.

Very comfortable hotel in the town of Ballston.

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: It was quiet and in a central area near Washington, D.C.
We really enjoyed staying at the Westin Arlington Gateway. We were able to visit Washington, D.C., by Metro, and also enjoyed the restaurants and walking in Ballston. The staff at the Westin were very gracious and efficient.

Great hotel near Washington D.C.

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: That the metro was only 2.5 blocks away.
Cons: The parking situation is not the greatest. The money spent on valet parking was an unexpected expense. There needs to be other options for guests.
Location: The National Mall is readily accessible from the Metro.
Comfy beds, free water, great maid service, very pleasant staff, especially the valet people.

We were looking for a place to stay near DC and chose here which worked out well for us. Distance to sightseeing was very close, many restraunts nearby within walking distance.

Hotel convenient to NSF offices.

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Proximity to my meetings.
Cons: Staff training. WiFi should be free.
Location: Location is rather remote from the center of DC but close to NSF and other government institutions which is the main reason for staying there.
At check in I requested a room at a high floor. We were given a room on the third floor overlooking the room over the restaurant with all the equipment under our window. When I went downstairs to request another room the receptionist gave me a long story that they did not have something better (although the hotel looked practically empty since it was Friday and we were staying there over the weekend before my meetings on Mon&Tue). Finally after some more haggling we were given a room on the sixth floor - much better and we settled for it. The main reason I think we were given so much hassle is because my reservation was through Expedia and not through the hotel, even though I am SPG member. The hotel itself is nice but services are very limited and the staff needs a lot more training. Also, the mandatory valet parking is very restrictive. We hate to wait for our car.

Great location

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Clean, friendly staff
Cons: It would be nice to have a shuttle service and free wi-fi in the rooms.
Location: There is not much to do that's close other than eat or shop the mall.
The hotel is very nice and conveniently located close to the Metro and to a mall (to pick up anything you forgot). I was surprised to learn there is no free wi-fi except in the hotel lobby. I think that's a little odd considering you're paying $200/night to stay there. I was not told upon check-in that there was a huge group of points awarded to members if you elected to not have your room cleaned or in the alternative, $5 per day to use in the restaurant. It was only on a card in the room but it would have been nice to know when I checked in (other members of my conference were told but I was not). All in all, the hotel is lovely and I had a good stay.
