Warm and welcomingPosted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Location, service, food, and room comfort.
Cons: Would like to have been able to open bedroom window - if only to breathe in the beautifully fresh air.
Location: The village of Ford itself is small and likewise its neighbour, Etal, but Lindisfarne, Holy Island, Bamburgh and Berwick are within a short car ride.
The Estate House is set in a quiet and pretty village. Our room looked out over the back garden, was spacious and very comfortable. Tea and coffee, biscuits and water were provided every day, which was a lovely touch when returning from a long day out. Breakfast was particularly generous - cereals, fruit, yoghurt, full English with a wide choice range, toast and home made marmalade. Very friendly service too :-)

Wonderful location and a nice welcome after a long journey. breakfast was the best and largest I've ever eaten. Only thing that needs to be done is clearly mark the end of the footsteps leading into the kitchen area. as My elderly friend fell onto the floor. that said, still a nice stay.

We had an amazing time. Ford village is another world. Comfy warm excellent food and lots of it. Wonderful surroundings. Superb bath filled up in record time, plenty of hot water. Couldnt do enough for us to make our stay a good one. Had an evening meal at the Blue Bell which was very good. We hope to visit again in the future

It was a lovely few days, the guest house was ideally located and the service was second to none, excellent gluten free diet catered for and that made all the difference. Brilliant

Great place to stayPosted Aug 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
really enjoyed our recent long weekend stay here.Ford is very peaceful. The owners(Bill & his wife) are lovely & gave my children a huge amount of their time. The place is lovely;though I suspect much easier if you have a car.We enjoyed very big breakfasts that kept us going for good portions of the dayThe Northumbrian coast is nearby,& we found the local people very friendly.Would love to go back sometime.

A hidden gem near Berwick upon TweedPosted Aug 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were surprised by the beautiful village and surroundings. Had never heard of the Ford Estate before our arrival at the Estate House. It's a really interesting place. The bed and breakfast accommodation is in a beautiful old house and has a nice tea room open to the public at one side. We only stayed overnight, but would like to return for a longer stay. One word of warning - the delicious breakfast is very large - you may want to ask for a small quantity!

Very beautiful landscape, friendly owner and good breakfast. However bedroom stuffy & windows didn't open. WiFi signal very weak and did not work in bedroom.
