Unfortunately what made my stay at this hotel disappointing was the person at the desk. Very unfriendly, unhelpful. Seems when I was asking a question about how to get back on tollway and a few other questions about a gas station that sells diesel close by, etc. they were uninterested or bothered by my questions, didn't seem to know anything was very frustrating when MOST people who stay in a hotel are not from that area for the front desk folks to have a little knowledge or information about things around them and for sure the ability to help with direction to get back to a majoy road.

All was well except didn't get the king bed we requested. Also, there was renovation going on which we did not know about but the stay was ok.

No trash bags in small cans. Staff was funny about extra blanket and extra towel. No towels in swimming area. No channel guide for television. Slept great, kids enjoyed it, and I would go back. Think everyone has an off night once in a while.

Our small cans in the rooms are not given trash bags in an effort to comply with a greener standard, but you could definitely request some if you'd prefer. I also apologize for our apprahension in regards to extra room items, we often times try to be wary of small parties that overcrowd rooms. We hope this doesn't turn you off from staying with us again.

Portage is a good stop during trips to Chicago. This is the best hotel that I know off of the interstates.

Location: The map link on Expedia let me to the wrong location. added an hour to my drive. very frustrating
Really great staff. They seemed to be in the midst of construction, but I got bumped to a suite, so it all evened out.

Bathtub was dirty. Very good food, courteous staff except 1 that kept me waiting in the lobby for almost 30mins before checking me in.
