Stop at Cool Springs, it was great.Posted May 28, 2013
The Manager was very friendly on arrival, let me check in early. The room was excellent, comfortable and cool. Complimentary water in the fridge. Good price, great place, I would recommend 'Cool Springs' to anyone. Thank you.

comfortable, clean, and fairly pricedPosted Oct 25, 2012
Pros: The fridge and the microwave were a great convenience.
Cons: This is definitely a no frills place. Even normally standard items like shampoo and a hair dryer are not available.
Location: It's in a nice, quiet location close to town, but away from the lights and the noise.
This is definitely a no frills kind of place, but the room was comfortable, clean, and fairly priced. I'm not sure I would recommend it for a long stay. However, if you are looking for a decent place to sleep for a few nights this is a good option.

Beware of excessive taxes and feesPosted Jul 9, 2012
Pros: Nice towels. Refrigerator, microwave, and free internet in room.
Cons: Misleading about the cost of a night's lodging.
Location: Nice quiet spot, but no gas stations or restaurants nearby.
This is a very nice, non-chain hotel conveniently located with respect to the Indiana Turnpike. Everything looked new. The room had a microwave and refrigerator, which would have been very handy if we were staying for more than one night. The bathroom was exceptionally nice, with REAL towels, not the usual hotel variety. Unsecured internet access was free. We were not bothered by road noise, even though our room was near the road. Main issues: (1) The tap water smelled bad, as a previous reviewer noted. This is not unusual for rural areas and it was not a problem showering or brushing teeth. We carry our own drinking water so did not mind that the local water might taste funny (we did not try it). There was no ice, however, except what you make in the frig with the tap water. (2) It was a 4-5 mile drive to the nearest restaurant or gas station. We thought the minor inconvenience was balanced out by a lower price for the room, but see below. (3) About 30% of the quoted price was tacked on as "taxes and fees". Normally in this part of Indiana, the added tax is about 14%, so this was excessive. The added 'fees' brings the price of the room up nearly to that of the chain hotels in town--which are much more conveniently located for restaurants, gas stations and I-94. The room was worth the price, but the owners are unethical, or at least disingenuous, in the price quoted on Expedia. We will not stay there again until they are more upfront about the cost.

dirty waterPosted Jun 6, 2012
This was a great bargain, beautifully situated, nice room, kind and attentive innkeepers. But we were not told not to drink the water, which stank. Bottled water was provided gratis. When I first brushed my teeth, I didn't notice the smell of the tap water. But when my friend took a shower, he complained about the smell, and when I took one I noticed bubbly scum in the corner when I'd finished.
