Great Place to Stay

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: It's close to my family and easy to find.
It was nice. There's even a pool. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was courteous and very helpful, eager to improve your stay.

Nice hotel close to dunes!

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Very friendly staff. We had to deal with some other guests down the hall knocking on our door during the night and leaving trash. But there was obviously nothing the hotel could really do about that. Pool was nice, saw it being cleaned so that was appreciated. Complimentary breakfast was good!

Quality should not be in their name!

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Only good thing about this hotel was the Check-in was easy. Rooms and pool area very outdated and dirty. We had a dirty washcloth hanging from shower curtain, which the supposed housekeeping forgot. The air condition did not work, we turned it all the way down to 50 degrees and the coolest it got was 76!!! We stayed for 2 nights and when we came back on the evening of second night our room was never cleaned!! The limited staff picked up our towels and trash and that was it. We had a little note on our table stating their was limited housekeeping so staff could spend some holiday time with their family!!! WHAT!! This is a hotel charging $100 a night and you don't have staff to clean the rooms, refill the coffee, make a bed, bring towels! We had 1 towel in our bathroom, and we had to take showers. We had to go to front desk and request towels, in which we were told it would be a minute because he was only person there to watch front desk!! Needless to say we went to bed without towels. But low and behold at 12am, again midnight, there's knocks at our door, its the lackluster housekeeping staff with towels that were obviously just washed. What in the world is wrong with this hotel!! We had a 2yr old sleeping and they are banging at the door at midnight with towels!!!! The dining area was filthy, food burnt, OJ was out, milk was out, coffee was out, why do you have to ask for these things at breakfast?? I was almost in shock by how bad breakfast was. Just terrible experience!

Quality Inn in Valparaiso, Indiana is disgusting!

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The rooms and the common areas of the hotel should be cleaned regularly and properly.
We arrived & checked in at 3:30 p.m. At 10:30 p.m., another guest - who had been assigned the same room as ours - used his key and entered our room! The shift manager merely shrugged it off ~ no apology. We went out at that time and when we returned, our room keys did not work. The shift manager again merely shrugged it off. The bathroom was dirty ~ there was mold in the sink and the shower! The breakfast area was also dirty and there was no staff to wipe off tables, restock plates, forks, etc., and the trash can was overflowing onto the floor. We have been to Valparaiso many times but had never stayed at the Quality Inn. We will NEVER stay at the Quality Inn again. The room was filthy and the staff was rude.

"Clean and inexpensive"

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Location: We stay here regularly for Valpo U. events, we've had / have 2 students there over the years.
Clean room, can't beat the price, some of the hallway and common areas are showing their age and need updating, but overall a good experience.

easy access to/from Valpo University

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: TV remote to screen synch Lobby 'freshness'
Just wanted a nice clean room to stay one night for Valpo Focus. It was ok. Room and hotel lobby was clean in appearance, didn't get a chance to explore rest of ammenities. For a non-smoking hotel, the lobby area wreeked of smoke and not from a recent passer by! Room was basic, not sure was worth the price per se, but it fit my needs at the time. TV remote was not synced to the menu/guide on screen so had to initially get up and manually change settings...reported to the desk and they said, "yeah, I don't think they are synced up." OK. But, it was just around the corner from campus and the beds/room was clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, basics provided. So I got what I needed, maybe paid a bit more than I should have...but would go back under similar circumstances.

Good and bad

Posted Apr 27, 2015 on Hotels
Stay was fine and the face to face customer service was solid. However, old soap remained from the previous room guest, along with other pieces of trash. Location proximity to Valparaiso University was excellent.

Change of Ownership- Do NOT Recommend

Posted Dec 25, 2014 on Hotels
This property was formerly a Marriott Courtyard and changed ownership the very day of our reservation. The property had been stripped by Marriott and was not suitable for a stay, we went to another property. Shame of Marriott for not advising me that the ownership had changed and I would not recommend that anyone stay there in the current condition.
