Average, wouldn't be my choice

Posted Jan 29, 2015 on Hotels.com
Arrived very late so didn't have much time to enjoy all the facilities. Very long walk from reception to room, meeting rooms also very spread out. Chose the breakfast inclusive rate but at £20 more than standard rate was a bit pricey. Food was fine but nothing to write home about. Stopper got stuck in the sink.

Standard hotel stay

Posted Dec 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Only for 1 night as works Xmas party was being held at the venue. With this in mind did not really try out all the facilities. Found the room spacious and clean, bed fairly comfortable. In all found stay pleasant enough the only draw back is that I feel the price slightly high for standard of hotel but expect that at this time of year.

OK about sums it up

Stayed here over the years as a convenient location for business but it is now in need of refurbishment and a little TLC. Great location in a small park (which should perhaps have a pathway or running track installed?) and the older part of the building looks great, but the interior is dated, food is over priced and the rooms are ordinary

Nice venue, good location

Stayed for a friends wedding, nice venue, good food and very clean rooms. The bar is a little over priced but nothing more than I would expect from a hotel/wedding venue.

Pros: location facilities good rooms and views
Cons: Staff training and also the mentioning of breakfast, if the stayer is on room only basis was told by the manager we do not try and sell breakfast
the hotel itself was good would make a nice break, nice facilities but did not get time to use them due to late booking my booking was done through Expedia using their 40% off secret code which stated there was free breakfast one of the main reasons for booking it, though the next day after having breakfast and checking out i had to pay for the breakfast. The confirmation from Expedia was room only so partially the fault liis with Expedia but also the staff at check-in at the hotel should have double checked this when i checked in. it is their fault but also the staff at check in did not confirm this or mention it, which meant i had to pay it and then take it up with expedia which can take 2 or 3 weeks to resolve

Disappointing stay at Eastwood Hall

Posted Nov 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
I booked 4 double rooms and stayed at Eastwood Hall Hotel with family and friends to attend a wedding. One of the double room shower's thermostat was not working, the water was coming out of the shower was scalding hot and the temperature could not be adjusted and hotel staff told us that it could not be fixed straight away. Because we had a wedding ceremony to attend in the morning our guest had to use other room showers and it was very inconvenient for all of us and lead to very bad experience. Which is not what I would have expected from this hotel. which mean to be good experience which turned out to be very unpleasant experience. We did not enjoyed our stay at Eastwood Hall hotel at all. The matter was reported to the manager and the reception made aware of the incident. The hotel manager advised to contact to Hotels.com, as the booking was made through the third party.
