Successful attempt to deliver a good experience

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: I like the cleanliness in the rooms, an attempt clearly made to make it feel fresh
Location: Shops and local facilities are in a 5 mins walk, for any extras needed. I used the Sainsburys
Room was very clean and they have attempted to keep it modern decor. The bed was comfortable enough and it represented good Value . Breakfast was good so too was service. Never ate in the pub at night time but it was busy though not troublesome for my sleep

Comfortable hotel

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: I do not like uniform hotel rooms which all look the same.
Cons: Milk on breakfast table. Side plate on breakfast table. Mirror near plug point fir hair.
Location: Close to town centre but in a quiet residential area.
Lovely room. Quiet location. Nice pub attached to it. Has character.

Nice and comfortable inn 20 min from city center

Posted Jul 14, 2014
This inn is in the pretty town of Kimberley, 8 miles from Nott city center. It is a quintessentially English inn with staff that make you feel like family. Highly recommended.

Nice little hotel

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Quite easy to find, though my Sat Nav did send me to a Station Rd a mile or so away so either post code is wrong or my Sat Nav is stupid :-) Check-in was fine if a little strange to check in over the bar. The room was great, clean, large and very bright thanks to lots of windows and a huge bed. Wife was impressed by the powerful shower. We ate in the pub that eve, food was good, if my portion of pie was very small, but delicious. Made the mistake of sitting in the bar rather then the dinning room, our fault, and sat under a speaker for the jukebox which was loud but the music was good. Breakfast was nice and the lady serving was very jolly and welcoming.

Great for Backpackers

Posted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Nearly everything. Good room, good amenities, good food, and beer. A backpacker couldn't ask for more.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The location is a small English town covered in a shade of dark green. By bus, it is easy to reach Nottingham city.
I stayed while on a recent trip across England. While kind of difficult to find from Nottingham city, it was a great experience. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The room, while a bit small, was comfortable and clean, and had the necessary amenities. And, of course, it is also a pub, which means that, without having to go far, you have hot food and good beer (both local and multinational brews), which are both reasonably priced and delicious. Your options for food are various traditional English dishes, and also more basic food items like burgers and chips (fries). A short walk away is the Kimberly Library bus stop, which can take you directly to Nottingham city centre, and also to trains and busses to other places (such as Sherwood Forest in Edwinstowe).

Good once you find the parking

Posted May 24, 2014
Pros: Food was good Good atmosphere, clean and good value.
Cons: signs to car park
Hotel/Inn was full of character, comfortable with helpful staff, but could do with better signs for the car park which was round the corner at the back of the pub.

A very nice stay here for just one night.

Posted May 7, 2014
Pros: The cost of our stay was very good value for money. Our room was very, very clean & everything worked as it should have done.
Cons: Nothing really, it was all we wanted it to be
Chose this B&B as it was rated highly on T/R. And people were right. It was a very good night`s stay here. Staff were very friendly & hospitable. Our room (3) was exceptionally clean & well presented. For a place that was out of the normal run of B&B`s location wise it was a very lively place as they had a Karaoke night on. The food was good & typically Pub-grub. When we retired to our room I was expecting to hear the music, but no, it was very peaceful & with lovely clean sheets we had a good nights sleep. For the price we paid which was half the price of B&B`s in Stratford-Upon-Avon we could not of asked for more.

Pros: Really nice atmosphere in the pub, the food was very good, breakfast and dinner. Staff were really friendly. Great ales frequented by local people.
Cons: The bathroom was looking a bit tired, could do with a refurb.
Location: Visited birthplace of DH Lawrence, a really good museum with a fantastic guided tour
Stayed one night had home cooked meal in the pub, really good ales. We were feeling cold the staff were really helpful getting extra bedding and put on the heating.

Good comfortable room, not the best service.

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Lovely clean comfortable room and quiet apart from other residents doors slamming. Service during dinner and breakfast could have been better. We ran out of loo roll, this should never happen. ....ever ;-)
