relaxing place to spend a few daysPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: the staff, the food was good too
Cons: the spa area needs more chairs as there was only 4 chairs and 3 beds. people were putting towels on the chairs and then leaving the spa for treatments
Location: nottingham town 5 miles away, bowling ice skating etc
we had a good time in this hotel. just need more seating in the spa and maybe music in there too.

Convenient Hotel close to M1 MotorwayPosted Feb 3, 2014
Pros: The courtesy, helpfulness and friendly disposition of all hotel staff towards us.
Cons: More scrutiny monitoring breakfast self service facilities.
Location: We had no opportunity to explore surrounding area.
Reception very pleasant, polite and efficient. Room clean and comfortable but WiFi reception poor. Dining experience was very good with excellent service. Breakfast was good, but staff were hard pressed to cope with the numbers. Some guests had to wait a long time before seating could be arranged. Little things like cold milk dispenser running dry and some hot breakfast items like bacon and poached eggs not always being available (although understandable considering the business at the time) was disappointing. The Spa Facilities were excellent and staff at the desk were very helpful and made us feel welcome.

maybe due to cheap deal?Posted Dec 29, 2013
Cons: I think it needs a shake up, maybe the boss was off for Christmas and we were just unlucky but double beds were a disappointment and the duvets hot
Location: We were visiting relatives so it didn't matter
We stayed one night on Boxing day so got a cheap deal. We were shocked that such a highly rated hotel only had double beds not kingsize. The room was comfortable with chairs to sit in but the duvet was far too thick. It would have been ok in somewhere with no heating but not a centrally heated hotel, so it was a restless night. there was also a fresh looking stain on the bed over. We had our evening meal in the bar the girl on bar duty only had eyes for the single male sitting at a table, it was almost impossible to get her attention as she spent all her free time at his table, and when we did she was less than efficient. She left my partner waiting for a drink for nearly 15 minutes, due to the barrel needing changing but then didn't come to ask if he would prefer something else as they were having problems. She gave us 2 pots of salt instead of pepper, when we told her she took one pot away but never came back with the pepper. The bar food was a bit sparse my partner had caesar salad which was just lettuce and croutons and I had Thai green curry, which was tasty but very watery with not enough rice to soak up the juices. Breakfast was delicious spoilt by the plates being stone cold. All in all worth what we paid but not a penny more.

Really poor meal one of worst I've had I've gad better take always! Stains on bedding and carpet in room. Wine was really cheap tasting but expensive in cost. Could go on and on really could ! Worst hotel experience I've had and I've had a few! Don't go unless it's a business trip which seems what they mainly cater for.

Very friendly and professional staff. It is a good hotel. The only problem for me was that the room was not clean, dusty and tissue box was empty in the bathroom. I don't know the reason but I can only think that it's because I requested to be on the same floor as our friends so staff never thought of checking the room before checking us in.

Amazing, would definitely go again. Breakfast was great, all varieties. Room came with shower and a separate bath. Nothing was forgotten. Staff were excellent and friendly.

High quality, great valuePosted Oct 22, 2013
We enjoyed 4 nights at the Nottingham Belfry and found it to meet the highest standards. The only drawback was that no central air meant the only way to cool the room was to open the window and endure the road noise of a nearby highway. But bedding, service, cleanliness, and restaurant were all excellent.
