Buen hotel en general

Siempre tiene algún restaurante abierto con gran variedad en el bufette, buen servicio de barra libre. Lo único incómodo son los camastros de la playa, están muy maltratados y viejos, ya deberían renovarlos.

Would not go back

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Physical facility was nice enough. We have stayed at many ocean front properties. Room smelled of mold/mildew. Room set up was weird. 1 bedroom had 2 full beds pushed together with one headboard, 1 bedroom had a small pull out sofa. The master bedroom was a king bed on a platform in the middle of what should have been the living space. Weird. The food was the worst we've ever had. The hot food wasn't hot nor was the cold food very cold. Everything tasted watered down/flavorless and the quality of the ingredients seemed inferior. I LOVE coffee in Mexico! It was the worst tasting coffee I've ever had. Made with bad tap water, perhaps? Plus no Splenda, Equal or even Sweet n Low. Only bad stevia and sugar. And no cream just milk. I could go on but you get the picture. PV is awesome but take a pass on this place.

Good for the money

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Very nice for an inexpensive stay. Clean. Pretty. Don't expect extra service like friendly waiters or bar service in the beach or wait staff by the pools. There is no room service. Have to book dinner reservations two days in advance. Buffet restaraunt was decent with a lot of options and great fresh fruit and salad bar. Good for a long weekend or short stay.

Beautiful hotel and great service

Posted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Very clean and hotel staff was friendly
Cons: Would love to have beach service, i.e., drinks and the option to get change in U.S. dollars, not peso's.
Location: Great location and a cheap taxi ride to downtown - very safe and fabulous places to eat near the boardwalk in Bocharios.
Great vacation! Beautiful hotel, 2 pools, but only 1 swim up bar for how big the resort was. Excursions off the resort were great and well organized. The whale watching and the city tour is well worth it!

10 days at the Riu Jalisco

Posted Feb 23, 2015
We loved the resort and have been to 4 "All Inclusives" in the past to compare it to. I would give it a 4 (but a 3.5 with the food). The rooms were very clean, however no bath tubs in the standard suites! The restaurants were good, however the ala carte's quite disappointing. Additionally, there were always weddings booked in the ala carte's so it was difficult to get in. If they could get the ala carte issue dealt with I would rate the resort a 4 over a 3.5 however I'm a foodie and the food at the buffet gets "old" pretty fast and one yearns for a nicer meal. The Italian ala carte' was amazing though (the other 3 were not good at all)! Staff super friendly, pool games (so fun!), beach clean and lovely to walk on; lots of lounge chairs for everyone (which is the first resort I've ever been to that has had that) and the resort was booked (so not a matter of no vacancy that the loungers were available). 45 min walk to Buccerious which has quaint shops and nice restaurants to eat at. We would go back for sure and had a great time!

Great beach right by the hotel...nice pool.

Posted Feb 18, 2015
Pros: Clean. Nice pool and great beach.
Cons: Seemed a little short staffed in the buffet area.
Location: Many excursions to attend, as well as going into town. Reasonable taxi prices.
The hotel was clean and nice. Pool was great. Beach was great. Food was good. Cleaning staff was very nice and friendly. Staff at the buffet and other eating facilities was good for the most part but not as attentive as other RUI's we have stayed at. Sometimes had to wait for refills or get them ourselves, which is fine, but never had to do that at the other RUI hotels we have stayed. Long lines at buffets and food went quickly...overall, good experience.

Clean nice rooms but disappointing food

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Beach area was nice
Cons: Food
Location: Visited Bucarias
Had a nice time, but think the hotel is over rated. It shouldn't be more than a 3 star. I wouldn't stay here again. Room was extremely clean and well laid out. However, the mattress was wrapped in heavy plastic and made a horrible noise when in bed. I was on the ground floor and had trunks and Tshirt stolen from the drying rack outside on our patio. The food was plentiful but not satisfyingto me. We choose this hotel because it was all inclusive, including tips. However, almost every area had tip jars out for people to add additional money. Did not feel comfortable with this. Very nice beach area.
