Just returned from Grand Velas yesterday. 5th time in Puerto Vallarta, yet 1st time at this property. The reviews do not lie. The attention to detail and the overall customer experience are wonderful. From the initial welcome at check in which was topped off by a light shoulder massage, the Grand Velas staff went above a beyond to assure we were comfortable and delighted. The weather is perfect this time of year in PV as well, which just makes the experience that much greater. Special thanks to Jose (Chepe) our wonderful concierge and Gloria who made our evening cocktail experience at the Lobby Bar so special. My wife trul enjoyed the the spa, and all of the amenities it offered. 1st class all the way. Food choices were much better than other all-inclusives. Ask them for what you want, they will deliver! We will be back!

This was our second stay at La Estancia, and for the most part, it was as good as the first time. Several of the staff members we met on our first visit, were still there and made every effort to welcome us back. It is generally a lovely resort to relax and enjoy the good service. From the time you arrival, until departure, the staff tries their best to make your stay the best for you.
One issue we had, this time, was the food in La Casona restaurant was not up to previous level. We had steaks that despite being sent back twice, were still way too rare and shrimp, one night that was past its prime. The wait staff tried to remedy situation, but apparently there is new kitchen staff. Hopefully, this will improve in time. Other restaurants are also available at sister resort.
Our room was kept very clean and was quiet. Poolside, Felix and Gabriel, worked hard at keeping us comfortable and we enjoyed the waiters and food at poolside restaurant.
We would certainly consider a third visit in the future.

We did this as a surprise for my wife's 60th. The hotel treated her like royalty. Great food at the buffet, the Steak House was very good and Krystal was 5 star.
Great room with an ocean view alternated between the pool and the beach. We will be back!!!!!

We travelled with friends who have been vacationing here for years. This has now become our favourite vacation spot. Villa del Palmar offers a first class resort with exceptional customer service, outstanding cuisine at their restaurants and an extremely safe environment. I would highly recommend this resort for all ages

We were looking for a hotel that would be child friendly as we were travelling with 22 month old grandson. We were not disappointed, the hotel had a kids area that was fabulous. The grounds and the layout of the hotel and area is beautiful. We were treated very well. The beach is clean and the ocean was safe to go in. If you like to walk, there is miles of beach to explore. The mall is a block away and there is a weekly farmers market within walking distance.

We got in about 11 AM and were able to get a all-inclusive wrist band about 12:30 PM so we could get something to eat and drink as we traveled all night. We were able to get into the room about 3 PM. Worked out okay. They watched our luggage and we changed into cooler clothes as we traveled from Iowa. Wait staff and bar staff are just great. Always smiling and are not afraid to talk to you. Cleaning staff was excellent also. We had a great stay and will probably think about going back in the future.

This hotel has great service and the rooms are large and comfortable. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Since we had a family group of 14, the hotel located us on one floor adjacent to each other, which was what we asked for. The food is well prepared and all restaurants allow children except the Italian one. We would have liked easier access to the snack bar, which is located closer to the beach than the main tower. I think they used to have the snack bar closer to the lobby, but it was moved due to preparations for the Christmas Eve supper. Also between 5:00 pm, when the snack bar closes, and 6:30 pm, when the restaurants open, the only food available is through room service. The Christmas Eve supper was really excellent, with Mexican folklore entertainment by the pool side.
The rooms have a strange set up with the bath-tub standing out in the room between the shower/toilet area and the sleeping area, which makes it too open for comfort. There were also some plumbing issues is one of our many rooms and no stoppers in the sinks. However, the rooms are very spacious and each has a couch seating area. The mini bar had beer and soft drinks and was restocked each day. There is a jacuzzi on the deck, which is nice to relax in the open.
The beach is clean and lots of fun for boogy boarding. One of our party got hurt is a large wave and the Amerimed doctor was there quickly. I can't say enough for how attentive the doctor (Brenda) was. All turned out well.
