Nice locationPosted Feb 9, 2014
Not what we expected. Booked a superior room but far from it. Did not have a golf course view. No bath towels in the room. Very loud with traffic to the pool.

Good for golfers and kids familyPosted Oct 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
We came for business, so this was the most convenient hotel we could stay there. 5 minutes drive to a small town O'leary which just a short main street, nothing much but a co-op supermarket, a family restaurant, a Guardian pharmacy, 2 gas stations, and most importantly, there's a 24h Tim Horton. Try to avoid the hotel restaurant unless you have to. Swimming pool with slide, dry sauna (the woods in sauna room were badly carpented, take a towel in case of getting hurt) and hot spa jet tub, a simple gym, for outdoor sports you can have various of choices. You could possibly just stay whole time in the resort and don't have to worried about anything!

Needs updatingPosted Oct 7, 2013
The air circulation is horrible, air is dry and yet still musty. Beds are hard and give you a sore back. There were 2 very friendly staff people and I really appreciated their efforts. The pool and fitness areas were better than the rest of the hotel but still need an upgrade. The games room was missing many items and also needs an upgrade. The food was ok but service in the restaurant was very slow. A hotel in this condition should not be charging such high rates.

If you have kids, this is a place you must stay. Great swimming pool with water slide and many indoor activities for kids. Nice place for adults to relax too.

Go for the golf coursePosted Sep 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed our stay here and the resort was great value for the price. The restaurant was very good, which made us happy because there is nothing else in the area. Aside from the potato museum, I'm not sure what else someone would do here aside from golf.

Huge DisappointmentPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
We would definitely NOT recommend this hotel, nor stay there again. In fact, we will recommend that friends avoid the resort! Because of the proximity to family living in the area, we first stayed at the Rodd Mill River 8 years ago. The grounds were beautiful, and the golf course appeared well maintained, but the hotel was dated, beds were soft and in need of replacing, and atmosphere was a bit dingy. However, we had enjoyed other Rodd Hotels, so we decided to try it again this visit, anticipating that it had been updated since we were last there. No such luck; nothing appeared to have changed, making it even more dated and run down than before. The sink in our room was chipped, the few outlets in the room jammed with wires and Multi-plug extenders, no place to plug in our phone chargers, dirt around the edges of the carpet, and some of the worst beds and we've seen in years. The food and service in the restaurant were mediocre at best, and the reception staff lacked any warmth or enthusiasm. Dinner the first night took more than an hour to be served, and the "breakfast buffet" on Sunday morning offered only the minimums, with no fruit and cold scrambled eggs, The final straw was returning to our room after being out the first day to find that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, dirty towels taken but not replaced, and one of the beds unmade with just the spread thrown back over it. Definitely not up to the standards of the other Rodd hotels where we have stayed.
