Been here before

Posted Sep 18, 2014
Pros: Great location for us.
Cons: Can not really contribute here, due to my short stay with you.
Location: As indicated above.
We stayed with the hotel before due to our aircraft not leaving on time. Considering the location of the hotel ie next to Macy's shopping centre. It was a no brainer for us, we only had one day to spend in Honolulu and wanted to be close to the centre. It is a well run hotel at a reasonable rate.

Ala Moana Hotel for Conference Attendees

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Decent facilities and good location.
Cons: Check-in time can be earlier so that travellers on morning flights can get their rooms earlier. There was a long queue at 3 pm when everyone arrived.
Location: Near the Ala Moana Shopping Center, the Hawaiian Convention Center and the Ala Moana Beach.
The Ala Moana Hotel is a nice, comfortable hotel, with good beds and amenities. It is conveniently located near the Ala Moana Shopping Center and the Hawaii Convention Center (where the conference was held). The conference had a couple of events at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which was also within walking distance albeit somewhat a distance. The Ala Moana Beach is within walking distance. Depending on the location of your hotel room, sunsets or sunrises can be very pretty - I caught a great sunrise at about 6 am. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lifts were fairly quick, unlike some hotels where the lifts take a long time to arrive. There was a café and restaurant in the hotel, and eating places not far from the hotel. I enjoyed my stay at the Ala Moana Hotel, and would consider staying at this hotel again in future.

GOOD LOCATION, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The fitness room and the restautants on the 2nd floor, you should definitely try. The grocery store in the lobby opens until 1130pm, so convenient...
Cons: swimming pool
Location: It takes 3 minutes to the ALAMOANA SHOPPING CENTER by walking...
The first day my wife and I could not sleep well because we were sent to a room which unfortunately close to the ice maker on the hallway. But we were quickly transfered to anther better room after I talked to the front desk receptionist Melissa the 2nd day morning.

first time visitors to hawaii

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: proximity to alamoana mall and to parks and beaches.
Cons: The business centre could be improved. It may not be ran by the hotel but it is in the hotel and therefore assoc w/ the hotel service.
There could be more amenities included in the room like complimentary water bottles in the fridge, more than 2 drinking glass especially if you have 3 or 4 people in the room.

It's the little things that count

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Great location, walking distance to shops and restaurants at Ala Moana Shopping Center.
Cons: Fix the parking situation.
My wife and I live on a neighbor island and when we're in Honolulu, the Ala Moana Hotel is one of our regular places we stay. Normally I would give the hotel a decent review, but my latest visit was lacking. First, when we checked in, we were greeted by a line of 20 guests trying to do the same thing. When we finally received our room key, we discovered our room hadn't been cleaned yet, so we had to go back to the lobby to get another room. The check-in clerk apologized and gave us an upgraded room for our trouble. After we checked into our room, we noticed there was no floor mat for the shower or sugar for the coffee service. Little things, but irritating nonetheless. Parking is always a problem at this hotel. If you're lucky to find an empty space, you'll probably find your car trapped by double parkers the next morning. This made it difficult to get out of the garage. When we complained about the parking situation, the clerk apologized and gave us one free day of parking. It didn't solve the parking problem, but it took some of the sting out of our stay. Overall, we had a nice stay at the Ala Moana Hotel, but it's the failure to pay attention to the details that count.

Had an awesome time. Walked the beach. Took about a 20-25 minute walk and ended up in Waikiki. Did a little shopping. Will visit again.

Hotel covers the basic needs

Posted Aug 4, 2014
We booked this hotel during a stop-over in Honolulu. The hotel is located right on top of the mall and there was a construction going on right in front of the hotel. Therefore it was loud even with closed windows. Our room was too small and the intenet connection horrible. The only positive point was the acceptable price.
