good location, reasonable price

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros:
Location: Good location, close to many shopping centers and restaurants. Walking distance to the beach.
We enjoyed staying at Ambassador Hotel and would not look for another hotel if we go to Honolulu again. Super friendly staff. Having kitchenette was very convenient. There are 2 grocery stores close to the hotel . Bus stop just in front of the door ($2.50). Pink line of hop on - hop off 1 block away ($2.00 one ride ticket). Taxi to the airport $35.00, to the cruise $15.00. We enjoyed resting at the small swimming pool on third floor.

Pros:

Pros: Nice location if a little old and tired.
Cons: Cupboard in kitchette a little smelly (musty smell when opened) as well as drawers.
Location: easy level walk to beach, post office and fort de russey. Plenty of stores nearby (ABC and Whalers) hotel room had microwave so saved on meals.
Check in was easy enough as it was quiet due to late night arrival. Very security concious since my last trip to honolulu last year. Was unable to access toilets on the ground floor without a key. Arranged for a late check out of room (extra cost) and thought I could spend the rest of the afternoon by the pool until pickup for the airport. Once you check out you are unable to make use of the hotel faciltiies as access is linked to hotel access card. This was very disapppointing as it meant hanging around for 3 hours before going to airport for a 9 hour flight home. If I ever do this trip again I will book an extra night which may be a little more than the extra 3 hour fee but at least I will have access to all amenities. Will not be this hotel however.

Aloha Ellen! We thank you for your recent visit from New Zealand. I am sorry to hear that your visit with us did not fully meet your expectations. Our pool area unfortunately is not available after check-out due to security and safety liability which covers only guests who are checked in. We do encourage you to extend your stay, as mentioned to be able to use all of the amenities that we do offer. We hope that we will be able to accomodate you again in the future. Nice hotel with excellent staff

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: The staff, the room size and cleanliness and the feeling of being part of their family
Location: A couple of blocks from the beach with lots to do nearby. We would have preferred to be a little further into Waikiki but this is a very quiet spot
We found this hotel to be a very pleasant surprise. It was very clean and the staff were out of this world. The bell captain, Kenton, was a pleasure to deal with and was always ready to help out, no matter what we needed or asked for. The rest of the staff were equally pleasant and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend this property.

Cons: There were number of new nickel-and-dime fees that added up to an extra $100, which I didn't read on the website and wasn't in the reservation e-mail.
My two night stay in the hotel was fantastic and relaxing. Many little stores and places to eat within easy walking distance. The staff was great upon check-in, and when the TV wasn't working properly, there was a maintenance tech up to fix it within 10 minutes of my call to the front desk. I would easily return, and in fact, this was my second time there.

Posted Mar 13, 2015

Okay hotel but a little too far from the beach.

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Bikes are only free for first 2 hours. They charge $5 for every hour after that and the bikes must be returned by 6pm. They also charge an amenities fee $20/day. And if you ask for a late check-out, they will charge you $50.

Posted Mar 9, 2015
