Pros: Breakfasts were very nice. Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned well.
Enjoyed being at this hotel except we had a hard time finding it after dark. Honolulu doesn't have very good street signs, especially after dark. The signs were not only small but not in well lighted corners.

Great stay for the money

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Location and Price
Cons: Update the rooms a bit
Location: Close to many dining spots that are more affordable than those on Waikiki
Had wonderful staff go out of their way to help me out with tours. Rooms are a bit dated, but the beds were super comfortable and the WiFi was good. Hotel is very close to many fast food and ethnic dining restaurants. They are off the strip, so it is a more affordable location to eat. Pool is really small, but that was no problem as the beach was less than 10 minutes walk. Will definitely stay again...

Fairly good cheap hotel that can be a little loud

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: - Not far from the beach - Hotel loans free beach towels - The staff was friendly - Decent price
Cons: - Better sound proofing
Location: - The Beach (5 min walk) - The zoo (15 min walk) - Diamond Head (40 min walk uphill) - Shopping if that's your thing
The hotel provided what we needed, which was a cheap, clean place to sleep in Waikiki. The facilities were a little worn, but everything was in working order. The main downside to this place was that the windows in the room aren't designed to close all the way and seal shut, which means that a lot of noise comes in from the street below (we were on the 4th floor, maybe it would have been better higher up). The worst part is when un-muffled motorcycles would drive by and the sound was absolutely deafening. We slept with the windows closed and the wall mount air conditioner on most nights (which was too bad, because the temperature outside was pleasantly cool at night). I don't regret staying here, but next time, I'll probably just skip Waikiki area altogether and stay somewhere else on the island. We ended up renting a room in someone's house in Kailua for the second half of the trip, which was cheaper, nicer, and more scenic.

Bad start, but ended well.

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Clean. Staff friendly. Good concierge service - recommend for booking tour. They installed free Wifi to all rooms during our stay - works well.
Cons: Rooms need refurb. Never spied the mythical shuttle to Ala Moana, took bus instead.
Location: Close to shops, supermarket and restaurants. 10 min walk to Waikiki Beach. Local buses are cheap and efficient and stop is 3 minute walk away.
Arrived late Friday night and got the last room. Tiny room, adjacent to lifts and stuffy with a strong deodorant smell. Tried to open the louvre windows. All had missing openers and were fixed slightly open, which let in street noise but little air. The air conditioner was small, noisy and located at floor level, close to the bed head. It blew directly on the bed with fan settings of high and very high. None of the website photos showed this. In the bathroom was a small white pedestal type sink with no bench or shelf space, very different from the shiny black bench shown on the website. The room was adjacent to an intersection popular with Harley Davidson motorcycles and police who seem to travel in groups of three with sirens on, all through the long night. Result - no sleep first night. Next day I complained. They agreed to move us to a "standard" room at a high level on opposite side. This was a better room and three of four louvres had openers, a balcony with a sliding door. The a/c unit was in a normal position. No problems, slept well and enjoyed the rest of our vacation.

편안한 여행

Posted Feb 2, 2015
