Understaffed perhaps?

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Didn't like the 'external access' to the rooms, just didnt feel as secure as entering my room from inside the buiding.
Front desk needs more staff so that the standard of customer service can be raised. One person isn't enough to be able to serve everyone. Waited ages to check in and check out (early morning) and then the complementary coffee in the hotel reception was empty. Wouldnt recommend to a friend.

Value hotel within walking distance to Waikiki

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Value.
Cons: Replace Kevin. Stop charging the damage deposit at check-in. If you have a non-smoking policy - enforce it! Provide filters and coffee for the machi
Nice value hotel within walking distance to Waikiki Beach. When we checked in we were told we would be charged $100 to our credit card as a damage deposit. When we questioned it Kevin told us that is the hotel's policy to charge the $100 at check-in just in case we broke the rules or damaged the room. Most hotels take the credit card number but do not run it through unless there are charges after you check out. No coffee or filters in the room with the coffee maker. When we spoke with Kevin at the front desk he informed us we did not need filters but did not offer to give us coffee for the machine. After we purchased our own ground coffee we attempted to make it without a filter but of course the grounds clogged up the drip and it poured all over the counter before we could turn it off. Later that day we informed him of the issue and the mess - immediately someone was sent up with hundreds of coffee filters but still no coffee was offered. When we went to the desk and asked for beach towels Kevin handed us 2 white towels like the ones in the room. I asked if there were beach towels and he said no, these were the only towels there were. The next day another person was at the desk and we were given beach towels. When I asked why they were not available the day before they did not have an answer. Once Kevin was off shift the experience was much more enjoyable. It is a non-smoking hotel but we smelled cigar smoke one morning on the balcony from a neighbor suite.

Not worth the price

Hotel is decent enough but costly. I have to mention that the room cleaning staff were honest. I had to leave the hotel in hurry for sight seeing and left the bags unlocked.

Close to Waikiki

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Proximity to local buses and restaurants
Cons: Be more accurate in the description of hotel rooms
Third bedroom was a partitioned area off the common living space not exactly a separate bedroom as I was expecting and the 2 bathrooms were all connected so if you want privacy you had to go around and lock multiple doors then remember to unlock them. Only had dishes and flatware for 4 people in the kitchen.

Good location with all the basics

Posted May 27, 2014
Cons: Faster wifi for business work at night.
Honestly, the Aqua Waikiki Pearl has everything you need since you shouldn't be spending most of your time in your room anyways. All the basics with friendly and courteous staff was perfect for us. Great location as well.

Roomy Junior Suite, basic hotel

Posted May 16, 2014
We stayed one night in the junior suite. The location of the hotel is central is everything. Lots of eateries. Short walk to beach. The staff is friendly. The suite is spacious but don't expect anything luxury. Basic and clean although some stains on the carpet. The balcony is good but not much view. Couldn't see any ocean or mountain. Better than no balcony room. Parking is less desirable as there are only 20 stalls in the lot at the hotel. We paid $25 for 1 night 24 hour parking with in and out. But there was no stalls available. They sent us to the Trade center parking lot 1 block away across the road and we had to pay the Trade center $20 then got reimbursed from hotel. But at the end, the hotel just waived the charge of $25 instead of reimbursing us.

Great value for area.

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed, a short walk from most activities and amenities in Waikiki.
Location: This hotel is closer to the canal than the beach but still a relatively short walk. Close to shopping.
The bed was very comfortable and the room and lanai were both exceptionally large. The fridge and microwave were a nice bonus. This hotel is a little further from the beach than some of the others in the area, but still a pretty short walk. Convenience store directly across the street as well. Staff were friendly and everything was nice and clean. Some of the fixtures are a little dated, but not terribly so. I would recommend this hotel.

Great Little Hotel

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: Staff, location
Cons: The main thing would be to somehow improve the thin walls
Location: Beach, Subway, Food Pantry (grocery store), a place to get stamps (don't remember the name)
I stayed here at the beginning of April 2014 for a long weekend, and absolutely loved it. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and cheerful (even those on the midnight shift!). It was very close to the beach, there was a grocery store around the corner from it, and all my tours picked me up around the corner (at another hotel, incidentally) from this one. This is not a super fancy place. The walls are pretty thin. But it is close to everything, clean, safe, and has great staff. Now, my shower drain was clogged, and the faucet in my sink leaked, but the staff was very quick about repairing them. I can't hold the leak faucet and clogged drain against them (things happen!), but I do appreciate and commend their quick response. I never had problems after that! I have been recommending this place to people, and would definitely stay there again!
