Best to avoidPosted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: Bell boys were helpful and friendly
Cons: Front counter staff, beds, terrace doors
Location: Not really close to beach. Excellent japanese restaurant across the road as well as bus stop to Ala Moana
Having stayed at the Pearl, the Wave looked to be a better hotel from the outside but that was not the case. Checkin and checkout were painfully slow and we were not acknowledge even though we were the only ones there. there was always a line waiting at the front counter and staff were not experienced to do their jobs. Local surroundings can be noisy and due to terrace door not closing properly, all the noise could be heard loudly and clearly from our room. The bed was slanted and uncomfortable and bathroom the smallest i've seen for a while.

Not a too bad choicePosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: easy access to the beach
Cons: lower the price of crib. $15 per night for crib is reasonable.
Location: waikiki beach surfing, nice restaurants.
I am very satisfied with many aspects of this hotel. Except for one thing, the crib price is not high. $35 per night for a crib. If you stay for many many nights, it will be extremely expensive. I stay in many other hotels like hilton and Marriot, they never ask for extra charge of the crib.

Nice clean hotel, only 2 blocks to beachPosted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms, private balcony. Elevators were newer & very fast.
Cons: Bathrooms were very old & could be updated
Location: Location was great, only 2 blocks to beach with lots of restaurants & shopping nearby
Had a wonderul time in Waikiki & stayed at Aqua Waikiki Wave for 2 weeks. The hotel is older but very clean & comfortable. The staff was great, always very friendly. Our rooms were spacious & always nice & clean with very comfortable beds. Great location, only 2 blocks to beach & lots of restaurants & shopping very close. We loved to walk every day so didn't mind being 2 blocks away from beach. Went on some tours & bus picked us up just around the corner. Would definately go back there again.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.Posted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The friendly staff
Cons: Bathroom could use upgrades. Sink tap was very touchy. Water ran either very slow or very powerful that mirror would get splashed.
Location: Location was approximately 10 mins from beach. Several restaurants and shopping stores close by.
The hotel was approximately 10 mins from the beach which was a nice walk to take daily or several times a day. We especially liked the location of the hotel as it was close to several good restaurants, as well as several good shopping stores.

Cheap, large rooms, close to the action!Posted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: The staff, the size of the rooms, the gym, the location and accessibility to the beach and shops
Cons: Rooms need to be modernized
Location: Waikiki Beach, Kalakaua and Kuhio Ave close by
Budget friendly, helpful staff, close to the beach and shops, bus stop right near the hotel! Includes a gym which is great. Very friendly front desk staff, particularly Isaac, who was very welcoming and knowledgable to guests, helping us with the bus routes. Downsides are there is no pool and the rooms, whilst spacious, need a bit of an update. The hotel is getting a bit old and worn and needs to get with the times. But still a comfortable experience overall! Would recommend for the money conscious traveller!

Nice Hotel close to beachPosted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: Location, price, comfortable bed, good shower.
Cons: New carpet, update room decor.
Nice hotel close to beach. Comfortable bed with clean crisp sheets, nice clean bathroom with great water pressure shower, carpet is a little worn, decor could use update. We were on the 4th floor and there was street noise, trash man runs really early there. Walking distance to beach, IHOP, and other restaurants. Has easy to use city transportation just a few steps outside the door. Easy to to get to Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head Crater Park by city bus, bus ride is only $2.50 and you can get a transfer that is good for 2 hours, good for return trip. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything is just averagePosted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: The location was good then, but with international market closed the location become worthless now.
The tv in the room is extremely small. The area is noisy but the room itself is comfortable. Unfortunately, the famous international market is closed and the adjacent hotel as well.

Affordable and great locationPosted Feb 1, 2014
Pros: This hotel is in the centre of Waikiki. Public transit stops are right at the door. Very clean facilities. The front counter staff is very helpful.
Cons: The bathtub faucet had a drip. I mentioned it to the maintenance staff. They said it was on their agenda but it never got repaired in my 7 days stay
Location: The hotel is near major shopping. Two blocks away from the beach. Public transit right at the door. Lots of restaurants nearby.
This is my first time in Hawaii. I heard that hotels were very expensive in this tourist haven but I found this hotel to be very affordable. I paid $131 per night for two queen size beds. My expectations were completely met. The only drawback is that this hotel is located on a main street so the street noise may sometimes be heard at night. They provide earplugs but I never had to use it. You get used to the street noise after a night or two. I would definitely book this hotel again.
