Nice hotel, just a short walk to the beach.Posted Dec 5, 2013
Pros: Close to Waikiki beach
Location: Every Friday night the Hawaiian village resort has free fireworks be on the beach by about 7.30pm Cheeseburgers Waikiki is great
After a long night flight to Hawaii we arrived at our hotel at about 8am. We booked to stay for 9 nights. The staff were very professional and organised for room for us straight away. They explained the hotel facilities and also provided us with two warm fresh cookies.. Yum Our room was clean and nicely decorated. We didn't have a great. Jew from the balcony but what we had was pleasant. The housekeeping staff were pleasant to deal with. We rang late at night to change our pillows and they were at the door in about ten minutes We ate at the restaurant several times meals were nice and presented well. The bar costs aren't excessive and the staff where happy to serve you. On our departure day checkout was very quick and easy took less than 5 minutes

Nice stay, close to beaches and shopping.Posted Dec 4, 2013
Cons: Complimentary breakfast would be a win.
Location: Hilton Hawaiian Village for shopping eats and beach, shopping at Kalakaua Ave (just a few blocks away)
Our stay at this hotel was pleasant. The room was clean and also had safe where we could lock up valuables. Although there was no complimentary breakfast, there were several places closeby walkable where we could get breakfast lunch and dinner. Valets were were very efficient and we never had to wait longer than a few minutes to get the car. Housekeeping was also very prompt and kept the room clean at all times also replacing towels and bed sheets as necessary. This hotel seemed to be very new as compared to other hotels in the area. There is not much of an ocean view one can get from here, but the beaches are very close.

Excellent experience our second time in HawaiiPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: Location, name/brand, amenities, flat screens, breakfast.
Cons: Change the bed sheets before a new family arrives. The tv reception for some channels was poor, not the hotel's fault plus i didn't go to Hawaii forTV
Location: 12 mins walking to Waikiki. Close to Hilton Hawaiian village and 10 mins to Ala moana beach. Close to restaurants.
We arrived there at noon and the front desk helped us check in early without us having to pay a fee. We got our free cookies. The room was clean for the most part. My wife found one of the bed sheets dirty so that's why room cleanliness is a 4. They were hospitable and friendly. It's within walking distance to Waikiki (12 mins).

10 minute walk to beach w/o paying beachfront $$$$Posted Oct 31, 2013
The only complaints I have were: 1..a/c couldn't keep the room cool enough for us 2..although shower was sheik and modern, it was too small. No room for a woman to shave her legs

Nice HotelPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: This hotel is close to the beach but without the beach price - just a quick walk through Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort, and you are on the beach
Cons: The Restaurant menu is good for both breakfast and dinner, but it is a bit pricy. It is still in-line with most tourist-frequented restaurants though

Not badPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: reasonable price
Location: wikiki, alamoana
First day, they request me my credit card for guarantee purpose. They charged us every day for deposit, parking and wifi, etc. Up to final date, they charged apprx. 30 dollars more than the final bill I got. They explained the payment will be adjusted soon, but I am still in doubt and not comfortable about it. It should be more clear and quickly processed.

Our honeymoonPosted Oct 4, 2013
Our very first visit to Hawaii and we enjoyed it very much. The hotel was very spacious and comfortable and close to some of the atractions that Honolulu offers.

Great Hotel.Posted Sep 22, 2013
Cons: I have no complaints about anything.
Location: There are many restaurants and stores in walking distance, and others a short drive or bus ride. The Bishop Museum is about a 30 minute bus ride away.
I have NEVER written a review for anything before, but I was so impressed with the quality of service, that I just had to write about Double Tree by Hilton Alana Waikiki. Every member of the hotel staff that I interacted with was kind and courteous. They were sincere in their "Aloha Spirit." The rooms are not huge, but that was absolutely of no concern to me because I did not go to Hawaii to stay in the room. The room was quite comfortable for my family of four, and the balcony was an added plus, from which we could see the beautiful Hawaiian sunrise, or just sit and read or relax before or after a full day of activities. The location is perfect. It is literally feet away from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which is located right on the beach, and is full of shops, and restaurants. It is not located in the heart of Waikiki, but is close enough to get there if you want to be right in the middle of everything. There is a pool, a gym and a restaurant in the hotel. None of them are huge, but again that was of absolutely no consequence to me. Most days when we went to the pool, my children were the only ones in it, so there was no problem with over crowding. I will stay at this hotel every time I go to Honolulu and I have highly recommended it to friends.

Ok location but expensive valet parkingPosted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: Cheaper valet charge for over night guests.
Location: Close to the strip and the mall with almost all name brands you know.
Hotel itself is ok, location is within close walking distance to the strip and to the Ala Moana mall. Bed is comfortable. But the nightly valet parking fee is expensive. The main complaint is that the pool was almost closed for my entire one week stay. Other than this ok overall experience.
