Close to the beach!!Posted Feb 17, 2014
Ok, I'm going to start out by saying this hotel hands out metal keys still with your room number on it. Hello 1982!!!! Bare minimum furnishings with zero decorations on the walls. The old wall paper was filthy with what appeared to be mold stains. I had one of the cheaper small rooms with a view of a huge wall and the surrounding trashy hostels. This hotel has zero emenities!!! Only one elevator with no air conditioning, so god help you if that thing breaks down with you in it. Now that I got all the negative things out of the way, I'll say something nice. The hotel was in convienent location about a block from the beach. Although this hotel had similarities to a truck stop hotel, I never once saw a bug in the hotel, which I have seen in nicer hotels in Waikiki. The bed was comfy, and the ac worked great. Bathroom was actually very clean and maid service was great. Bottom line, if it's your first time in Hawaii and want a place with a great view, you will not get it here. If you are on a budget and just need a safe, convenient, decent place to stay, and don't plan on doing anything else in the hotel but sleep, this place isn't bad. Looks like they are starting to update the hotel as construction in the hallways started at 8am..ughhhh. I hope this helped!!

Ewa Hotel WaikikiPosted Feb 16, 2014
Clean and convenient 2-3 star hotel. We spent one night and walked to our timeshare condo.

Would not recommend.Posted Feb 8, 2014
Very small. We only stayed one night because our house wasn't ready the day we flew in and it was the only hotel that had enough clearance for our big truck. Desperately needs updating. Air conditioner was over the headboard of the bed, when turned on spit out black stuff all over the pillows. Needless to say we had a sweaty night.

Nice hotel, great location, friendly staffPosted Feb 8, 2014
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ewa Hotel. It's in a great location down a quiet road but only a block away from the beach and very close to Kapiolani Park. My room was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. It was cleaned to a high standard every day by friendly staff. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful, assisting me when I was unable to open my room safe. All in all a great place to stay at a really good price. I hope to be back soon.

Nicely LocatedPosted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Still had a smoking area out front.
Cons: Updating the room could always be helpful.
Location: Zoo across the street, Lulu's and beach a block away and an ABC store on the corner. Cheeseburger in Paradise an easy stroll. A nice location.
The room was clean, had what we needed for a two night stay, and was nicely located a block from the beach, ABC store on the corner and Lulu's a block away. Staff very helpful and parking was available if you wanted to pay, which we deed.

5 Days at EWAPosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: good location
Cons: Rooms need refurbishing, they are pretty old. Wifi was poor quality & didn't work for streaming. We gave up. Kitchenette is barely adequate.
Average. Staff help was uneven. My roommate ordered wifi and was unable to get it reasonable access for over an hour and gave up. Called staff to have them take it off the bill as it wasn't working. They didn't. We had to do it again before checking out.

A great sleep...Posted Jan 1, 2014
Cons: The carpeting in the halls and rooms should be replaced.
The room that I had in this hotel had a fantastic mattress and pillow-top and top quality bedding. In spite of being in such density near the beach, I couldn't hear any noise from outside. I had just the best sleep after a long flight and I am very grateful for that.

Close to beach and shopping, but dissapointing conPosted Dec 30, 2013
Pros: The location was perfect, the staff was great, the rooms were bigger than most hotels in waikiki, and it was walking distance from the beach.
Location: Beach was really close, convenience stores were located near by, it is right off the main strip, and near some nightclubs, bars, & shops
we checked in and the first room they gave us and it was spacious enough and had a stove but then we found hair in a wet shower and the bathroom seemed used. The furniture was rather old looking and unkempt. The air-con was broken (witch we realized after waking up covered in sweat) we called down and they sent security up who then offered us the room next door. The room was the same size but it had two tiny single beds as opposed to the original 2 double size. The staff was nice and i guess i could have made more of a fuss in hopes of getting a better turnout but i just didn't want to deal with it. It definitely wasn't the worst i stayed in and has potential.

You definitely get your money's worth here!!!!Posted Dec 19, 2013
Pros: Everyone was very helpful and nice. The rooms were clean and no bugs! On a nice quiet one way side street.
Cons: I think for the price it was worth it. It had towels a bed a fridge and a coffee pot and a bathroom.
Location: LULU'S had the best Chi Chi's. Dukes was more expensive but fantastic! Macadamia nut ice cream cake will make you weep!
The room is clean and no bugs, the bed was comfortable. It was a very short walk to the beach with an ABC store on the way there. We bought sandwiches and drinks and took them with us almost every day. The walls are very thin. You will hear your neighbors, if that is a problem for you try turning on the a/c or the T.V. Right next to the zoo at the end of the beach. It is a lovely walk up the beach to get into the shopping area of town. Paradise! I loved it so much I'm planning on going back as soon as I can.

Comfortable, cozy and attentive staffPosted Dec 12, 2013
The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were cozy [read: small], but every room I've stayed at in Waikiki has been small. The staff were very attentive and quick to help. They were in the middle of updating rooms, which I would not have noticed but for some room furniture on tarps in the garage [in other words, their updates did not affect my stay there]. One thing that was disappointing: the wifi. If it were free, I would have sighed and said oh well. But to pay for 'hi-speed wifi' and have it take 35 minutes to check in for my flight - that's painful. If you stay here, make sure you go up to the sundeck on the roof! Elevator up to floor 7 and then one flight of stairs up. Definitely a great place to hang out.
