Pros: We loved everything about the Halekulani from location, service, amenities, etc. Very romantic!
Cons: The air conditioner did not cool the room off as much as we would have liked.
Location: Roy's, one of Honolulu's highest rated restaurants, is right across the street. Great service!

An amazing experience all roundPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The beautiful rooms / lanai and quite extraordinary service.
Cons: Discounts for the Halekulani spa for guests.
This was our first time in Hawaii and as we we're having a wedding ceremony and joint honeymoon, chose Halekulani. The room was beautiful, overlooking the pool and with a clear and almost direct view of the sea. The service was absolutely impeccable; from the concierge who went out of their way to help with any request we had, in-room dining who allowed us to have early breakfasts brought up to us and arranged for a bottle of champagne with chocolate strawberries on our wedding day to the restaurant staff whose service was absolutely magnificent.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms nice but not 5 star.Posted Oct 5, 2013
No tea or coffee facilities. Very much marketed to Japanese tourists.

Overpriced for what you getPosted Sep 5, 2013
The Halekulani was a lovely hotel but only worth about half the price. My husband and I spent 6 weeks travelling around Europe and Canada with Hawaii being our final destination before heading home. I decided to spend big on our Hawaii hotel to give us a bit of luxury. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The hotel was beautiful, if a bit dated but I certainly didn't think it was worth the hefty price tag. There is only a very tiny access point to the beach, it cost us US$60 for a buffet breakfast which had limited options and there was no bar near the pool. You had to go into the restaurant to have a drink in the afternoon. We stayed in far nicer hotels over the 6 weeks that were a lot cheaper than the Halekulani

outstanding service & location.Posted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: all around a great hotel. service is great, food is awesome, pool is always clean and not overcrowded.
Location: There's so much to do around the hotel, but you still get the privacy and luxury stay. Hotel staff is always there to help with anything.
if you are looking for a serene, relaxing place, Halekulani is the place to be. Hotel is located right in the middle of busy Waikiki but hotel is quiet and so serene, you wouldn't even know you were in such a busy place. LOVE LOVE LOVE Halekulani and can't wait to go back.

Well worth for the moneyPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: One of the best hotels in Oahu.
Cons: Need to upgrade the beach chairs and beds at the pool.
Location: Just enjoy Waikiki.
The hotel is not surrounded by a tall wall, but rather open to Waikiki beach and street. Despite that the hotel facility is not structurally isolated from the street or beach, the hotel is quiet and has an exclusive atmosphere for hotel guests only. Well worth for the money.

AMAZING!!!Posted Aug 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you can afford this place... STAY HERE! The service is amazing and the room is gorgeous! Amazing views (we stayed in the ocean front). The staff all do a little something extra. For example, we went to tea and when we came back our dishes had been taken, a little present and note had been left on our bed and a little mat had been laid on the floor! We were also surprised with a free bottle of birthday champagne. House without a key is beautiful... Try and go during the live entertainment time if you can and you can also watch the sunset from there. The hotel is not overcrowded like the Sheraton next door which we also stayed in. The only downfall is that the pool is not huge but there is a beautiful warm ocean iut the front so it doesnt matter too much. Cannot rave enough and cannot wait to go back!

Best hotel on Waikiki BeachPosted Aug 1, 2013
Pros: Service, ambiance, beautiful landscaping, hula dancer and Hawaiian trio at House Without a Key.
Cons: The check-out process is incongruously inefficient and impersonal and leaves a weak last impression to an otherwise glorious stay.
While the level of service does not approach that of, say, Park Hyatt Tokyo, it's altogether fine and surely puts all other establishments on Waikiki Beach to shame.
