Dirty, cockroaches but close to everything

Posted Mar 10, 2015
If you don't mind cockroaches, dirty walls, curtains, and furniture you probably wouldn't mind staying here. I couldn't stay the second night I booked and the staff were very helpful in canceling my second night without charges.

Loved my experience at the Hokele Suites. The staff was very polite and courteous. Our room was awesome and spacious. I would definitely book with them again.

Pros: The suite and the service were great
Cons: Better wifi in the lobby
Location: Classical Waikiki location - everything is close by. Free shuttle to get around if you are not unto walking.
Great suite, it was like a home away from home, even better. We actually cooked our food in the kitchen that was fully equipped - great savings and a great help with those with a special diet like us.

Dump

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: The entire building. Parking.
The hotel is old and dilapidated. It just looks and feels kind of grimy. There's not much housekeeping can do about it, just looks like an old structure that hasn't been refurnished in years (decades). Internet is only free in the lounge area, not in your room. They say parking is first come, first serve. Just to be clear - that does not mean if you are the first one to the parking lot when there are still open spaces that you will get a spot. You have to reserve a space at the front desk in the morning and I think there are only a handful of spaces. I arrived at 5pm and parked in the lot, and they said all of the spaces are reserved for the night and I would have to park around the block at a 3rd party lot that is more expensive and only accepts cash. I would not stay here again or recommend anyone to do so.

Nice hotel with excellent location in Waikiki

Posted Feb 12, 2015
Pros: I really liked the staff, they were warm, friendly and every helpful. I also love their pool, microwave and fridge in the room. They all came in handy
Cons: Improvements could be made to some of the amenities; the bed, the patio and bathroom. All in all however, I had a wonderful time.
Location: Location is on point; EXCELLENT!!! Stores, bars, clubs, restaurants, Aquarium, nightlife, day activities, zoo, park, THE BEACH, everything in Waikiki!
My experience was wonderful. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Waikiki. The hotel has a nice pool and is in the middle of the nightlife, shopping and basically right by the beach. There is a free shuttle to Ala Moana Mall as well and overall, my experience was wonderful

Posted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: open

Love old buildings with character

Posted Feb 6, 2015
Pros: Character, pleasant staff, clean rooms. Good price for location in Waikiki. Provided off-site parking until space available, although slightly higher
Cons: New mattresses on beds and sofa. Toilets of adult height. Hand rail inside of shower stall. Require Handicap placard on cars in handicap parking.
Location: Center of Waikiki and close to trolley office. Lots of shopping, both high end and economy. Walking distance to beach.
While this old hotel had plenty of character, clean rooms and pleasant staff, I wish they would get new mattresses (on beds and especially on the sofa bed) and install adult size toilets. Pool was nice size and kept very clean. We had a condo with 2 bedrooms for our small group. The kitchenette was adequate for our needs. The price was reasonable for being in the center of things, close to trolley line and lots of shops. Parking garage was convenient and willing to pay the price, but handicap parking space was not monitored and found a large pickup truck parked there without a placard on 3 out of 6 nights. Attendant in parking area was gracious in opening elevator for us.

Posted Feb 3, 2015
