Close to beach & central Waikiki

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Great place for a holiday. Do as much or as little as you like. Lots of sight seeing & shopping or just lie on the beach.

Good hotel in the heart of Waikiki

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Hotel Staff were great, friendly & accommodating (front desk, housekeeping). Food & Beverage Staff (contracted out) did not offer a good service. The breakfast was not nice & I would not recommend the breakfast package. There was major construction work on next door which woke us every morning (construction to continue till 2016). I wish Expedia had warned us of this on their website.

Aloha H from Australia, Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay with us. We appreciate your kind words for our front desk and housekeeping staff, and will be sure pass them along. Our sincere apologies, though, for the service at the restaurant and the construction noise next door. Your comments will be forwarded to the restaurant management and owner to follow up on. As for the construction work at the International Market Place, the revitilization of the area is sorely needed, but we do apologize that it affected your stay in Waikiki. We meet almost weekly with the developer to stay on top of what is going on and address any issues that affect our hotel and the surrounding areas. We will make sure the forward this information to them. We hope that we will have the opportunity to host you again in the future when the new International Market Place is unveiled. Mahalo nui loa, Debbie M.

Location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location, location!
Cons: Hotel just needs a bit of a freshen up, but it is good and clean.
Location: Not on the beach, but just across the road. Easy access to all transport, trips, shopping etc.
Hotel is a bit dated, but the rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were very good and when my husband became un well and we needed to call 911, I was supported well by the security and head of staff and on our return the cleaning ladies were very nice and showed a very caring attitude. We returned to the Hotel a week later for 5 more days, but we were a bit disappointed that our request for a nice room was not given consideration - in fact we seemed to be given the lowest level of room possible. However, the location and price of the rooms makes this Hotel a good stay.

Great position, close to beach, on main street

Posted Jun 12, 2014
We were upgraded to an ocean view room but it was a bit noisy. At night there is some street noise as well as continuous aircon noise (probably from the building next door). During the day there was lots of noise from the demolition of the International Markets next door. Ok with the balcony door closed but noisy on our little balcony.

Aloha Nadia from Geelong, Australia, Thank you for posting a review about your recent stay at our hotel. We were very glad to hear that you enjoyed our location and close proximity to the beach. Being right in the heart of Waikiki on the main Kalakaua Avenue, does allow our guests to be able to walk to the beach, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and lots of shopping and restaurants. We do, however, get our share of traffic and street noise, and for that I do apologize. You may be happy to know that we are in constant contact with the developers of the International Market Place to minimize the noise issues for our guests. Many thanks again for choosing the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort and we look forward to your return visit. Mahalo nui loa, Debbie M.

Great location

Posted May 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Beach is only a short walk away along with a bunch of shops and restaurants. Hotel has a desk for booking sightseeing trips that pick you up at or at a nearby hotel so a rental car is not needed. But if you do have a rental car, there is a $30 a day fee to park at the hotel. The magic show that is at the hotel was a good show, but didn't live up to the price that we had to pay for the tickets.

Great hotel great location

We stayed here for our last 2 nights after being in a condo for a week with family. Room was lovely however even though we technically did get a partial ocean view room, directly out our window was major construction which was loud and very annoying!!

Hotel was located in the heart of Waikiki. Breakfast was an excellent deal. Right across the street from the beach and the Royal Hawaiian. If you are looking to stay in Waikiki on a budget, this is the place. Would definitely stay here again.
