Centrally located hotelPosted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: The ability to use the kitchen to make simple meals and sandwiches etc. Not having to eat out for every meal helped keep the cost of our stay low
Cons: The rooms are dated in their decor and fittings, and double glazing would be an advantage.
Location: The hotel is within easy reach of the beach, shops and dining places plus it is near bus and trolley stops to get anywhere in the area.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, they could not do enough to make our stay a good one. Rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Maid service everyday.

Excellent place to stay with kidsPosted Sep 8, 2014
Overall a great experience, will come back again. The free parking is great, people at front desk were nice and the room was large with a kitchen it was an awesome place to stay with the kids its also very close to shops and beach with use of free beach towels. You can wash you clots at anytime as machines are located on its own level Ive stayed at a few places in Honolulu and this is the best one for the value you will not be disappointed.

Easy in OahuPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff. Large room and full kitchen. Lei making class every Wednesday and Hawaiian music once a week.
Cons: Older building. Tidy, but could use carpet cleaning and removal of old safe from room.
Location: Close to shops and restaurants on Kuhio. Convenient do The Bus stops. Bar 3 doors down makes getting to front door difficult.
Went in for a visit to relatives and to play tourist for 6 days this September.

Nice Hotel Wonderful Staff Free ParkingPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Great location, wonderful staff, free Wifi and free parking
Cons: Some appliances are old and should be replaced.
Location: Swimming in the beach, shopping in stores and supermarket, and eating in nice restaurants.
Our studio room was large, well equipped, but somewhat old. The hotel is close to the beach, a supermarket and a great Japanese noodle restaurant. Visitors lined up to eat in this restaurant every day. The staff at the front desk was cheerful and helpful. They provide beach towels and sitting mat for going to the beach. The cleaning person was careful in providing all the towels, soap, etc. that we needed. WiFi and Parking were both free. Overall we had a wonderful time staying in this hotel.

Best value among hotels in WaikikiPosted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: 1. The rooms are spacious and clean. 2. Close to the beach. 2. The staff are super friendly. 3. Free parking!
Cons: I wish they would replace the shutter-style glass windows with something a bit quieter, that would keep out the general Waikiki street noise.
Location: Waikiki beach is two short blocks away. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is right across the street, super convenient.
The Ilima hotel is, by far, the best value in Waikiki. It offers the best combination of clean and spacious rooms, close proximity to the beach and very friendly, helpful staff. This was our 3rd stay at the Ilima, and we've been very happy with our stay every time.

Good for familiesPosted Aug 7, 2014
Enjoyed our 5 night stay. The hotel is dated, but we didn't mind because it was clean and comfortable and provided what we needed. We appreciated the full kitchen (complete with dishwashing liquid!) and ample living space for our family of 4. We managed to avoid paying the high prices for dinner in Waikiki this way. A nice added treat was the complimentary lei making class at the end of our stay. Praying for all those in Hawaii who may be affected during hurricanes Iselle and Julio. Stay safe.
