Great view
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: View and restaurant
Cons: Room was small
Location: Close to beach and shopping
Very easy to access with a great view of the beach and beach motels. A little walk to Waikiki beach. They have a great place to eat breakfast and dinner. The macnut banana pancakes were the best we found

Great hotel at a great price

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The check in staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed there an overnight and the hotel was close to the beach and shopping. I would defiantly stay here again on our next visit.

Inexpensive hotel in Waikiki
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: Maids, Bell Hops & Customer Service People are very accommodating. Attached restaurant has drink specials most of the day.
Cons: Lot of people in hotel for Asian festival. Elevators were busy.
Location: Hotel is central and walking distance to everywhere in Waikiki.
I booked a last minute vacation to Waikiki. This is the only 2 1/2 - 3 star hotel to guarantee a queen size bed. Others were only offering a twin. I am six foot plus in height.

Great location, but...
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: the location.
Cons: the hotel used to provide coupons for the restaurant downstairs.
Location: the hotel is very close to the international marketplace which is good. And not far driving distance from other sites
for the price that you pay this hotel could be a lot better kept up. the shower heads in the fire extinguishers are all rusty the carpets need to be replaced. The Maids need to change the sheets everyday not just fix the bed but change the sheets.

Nice hotel, close to everything
Posted Jan 15, 2013
The hotel was nice, needs some updates and improvements, but the room was clean with fridge, coffee maker and AC. The staff was nice and helpful. The most important thing, that this hotel is close to everything: bus stops, Waikiki beach, downtown Honolulu, ABC stores, restaurants, you name it.

Nice hotel near Waikiki
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff and reasonable prices.
Cons: Need to clean the carpets, the smell of mold and mildew greets you when you enter the room.
Location: Walking distance from shopping areas and restaurants.
I've stayed at this hotel many times during the years and have always been treated very well by the staff and the rooms have always been clean. This was the first time the carpet smelled moldy. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Good hotel, if you only need a place to sleep
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Very conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. The Waikiki beach is only a 10-15 minute walk away.
Cons: Rooms and the hallways need to be refreshed. The carpets are dirty and worn out.
Location: The Waikiki beach is a 10-15 minute walk away. Also Kalakaua avenue next to the hotel is where most of the action(shopping/food/bars) in Waikiki is.
This is a reasonably priced, decent hotel in Waikiki. It is also dated, and could do with some renovation. We had opted for their cheapest available room - a City View room - and we got what we paid for. The room on the 16th floor had a panoramic view of the high rise across the street, which meant we had to keep the curtains closed for some privacy. To be fair though, you could also see the ocean if you looked just right. The room was pretty small area-wise, but that seems to be common in all Waikiki hotels. The carpet was shabby, and worn out in spots, and it felt icky walking on it with no shoes on. The bathroom was tiny and low ceilinged, and may be uncomfortable for someone who is tall. There is a refrigerator in the room, but no microwave. There is a coffeemaker, but strangely, the hotel provides coffee/sugar/creamer packets only for your first stay - they charge for refills for the rest of your stay. There is a decent restaurant in the lobby that serves good breakfast and lunch (we didnt try dinner). The staff at the reception is very helpful and goes out of their way to help, provide directions and recommendations. The location is very convenient. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk away, and there are public transit options right outside the hotel. Parking at the hotel is $18 per day, and if you do not intend to go outside Waikiki, then don't bother with a car. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping options a few minutes walk away.

Great Bank for your Buck!
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: Cheap and reasonably clean. Perfect for a short stay.
Cons: On second return visit, the room was smaller and the sheets had some holes but it was only for one night.
Location: Located at the beginning of Kuhio Ave, only two blocks from the beach. Ten minute walk to the International Market and various restaurants.
If you are looking for a fancy room, this is not the hotel for you. The rooms are basic but clean. Our bathroom sink had some serious discolouration but we didn't mind. TIP, put your A/C on "fan" mode at night and you'll sleep better. The A/C turns on and off and may keep you awake. If you ask for a higher floor facing the canal, you shouldn't hear any noise from street level or the garbage trucks that back in early in the morning. Some reveiwers complained about that noise so we took note and asked for a higher floor. We never checked out the pool, but the hotel is only two blocks away from the beach and is reasonably centrally located in Waikiki. This hotel is a good bang for your buck if you are only staying a few days and yes, it seems to cater to the Japanese tourists but that didn't bother us, after all, it's not like they are in your room! And there is a great restaurant at the hotel: Vit's, which has reasonably priced lunches and dinners as well as a Breakfast special. Prices are steep in Hawaii so any bargains are welcomed!
