Deceiving

Posted Jul 13, 2014
We requested 2 queen beds. They stated it was Expedia who should have taken care of it. They placed us in a very small, 1 queen bedroom. After complaining, they eventually placed us at a two queen beds the next day. They stayed that people who book with them get priority as far as room.

Great Location, wonderful banyan tree courtyard

Posted Jul 12, 2014
This was our fourth stay here. The quality has dropped compared to previous years. The hotel is looking tired absolutely inundated by Japanese brides to the point where it is becoming unacceptable for other guests. The $31 surcharge each day for non essential services is not acceptable any more as a mandatory charge. Food service and quality needs to be improved.

Great hotel on the beach . Charming . Elegant

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The location was great . Beds comfortable view amazing .
Cons: Room service food arrived late and cold . The cheese used in the nachos is awful . But they were happy to not charge me for them .
Location: The location was very central . Walking distance from great restaurants and shopping .
As a Starwood member we where upgraded to the Moana penthouse suite . Was fabulous . Hotel was busy but still comfortable . Clean , friendly staff , relaxed atmosphere . Would recommend all my friends to stay there .

Great hotel on the beach in the heart of Waikiki

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Loved the upgraded ocean view room facing diamond head crater on the original plantation building. The beach bar is always busy but have enough servers to bring you your favorite drink. Beach access is so close and shopping is just outside. We love this hotel

Conveniently located hotel

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Historical building with not too many rooms.
Cons: Pay the extra for the ocean view rooms
Location: Out of the hotel straight onto the beach. Lots of shopping and eating within walking distance.
There is a bit of noise from the street late at night and unfortunately for us there was building work opposite which started early. I would advise if you were to opt for city view room to go for the top floors of the building.

first class non-commercial lobby

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: overall atmosphere of the hotel
Location: central location in Wakiki, near everything
My wife and I looked into all the other hotels in Waikiki - all had lobby areas that looked like shopping malls except Moana Surfrider, which retains a very comfortable and classy atmosphere, including the front porch, lobby area, and back patio.

good position !!

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: position is brilliant !
Cons: the pool area !!!
the hotel got 2 sections apparently , because we booked over the net , they were trying to give us an old room facing the roof and air conditioned vents !!! we asked for a different room they said we have to pay $100 more !!!! we agreed and got a shocking tiny old room on top of the restaurant !! the smell in the room !!!!! the morning after we complained again , we got a much better nicer room in the new tower !! very clean and specious . the pool area is old and miserable . very hard to find an empty seat !! the beach is awesome !!!

Lovely First Lady

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Loved our stay at the Moana, she lived up to her title as the First Lady of Waikiki. Elegance and charm throughout. Stayed in Tower Wing however, which we were led to believe have better rooms than the Banyan and Diamond Wings. Would recommend room with view of Diamond Head as the other side of Tower faces Outrigger Hotel and can get a little noisy on weekend with their entertainment.
