Charming hotel with style

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: rooms service location ambience
Cons: Pool is a bit small but the beach is there
Location: Fabulous location Beach, Macys, all the shops on the strip
Drinks under the banyan tree . Hotel built in 1901 and stands the test of time with some additions. We stayed in the Banyan wing with ocean views., no balcony. We were in a Club room which entitled us to use the 'Beach Club" where we had complimentary continental breakfast, coffee during the day, and 5.30- 7,.00pm drinks (not including spirits or selected wines) and also substantial nibbles. Nice staff. The club included parking across at the hotel opposite. Wifi was good. Location is great. Plenty of room around the pool, on the beach and under the tree.

Nice Hotel....terrible experience

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location, beautiful building
Cons: Night manager..service in general. *****please note that day manager was told of the previous nights events and was very accommodating!!
Location: Diamond Head!
We had high expectations because the because the hotel rated so highly. Checked in without issue and the room was nice. The real issues began the next night when we attempted to use the hotel restaurant. First were told you need a reservation, even if you're staying. We attempted to book something for the evening (this was around 4) and were told there's nothing available. Ok, so on the off chance we could get something that evening we stopped at the hotel restaurant around 8pm on our way out and asked was there anything available...I was told NO but could clearly see numerous tables open and empty. I asked about those table and was rudely told they were reserved. Interesting since the restaurant supposedly closed at 930. And all those tables were open. We were then told we could eat in the bar area and that it's the same menu...we decided to do that since it was beginning to rain and we didn't want walk the streets of Honolulu looking for dinner. We found a table but couldn't get service for almost 20 minutes...none of the tables had been cleared in this area and as we suspected the waiter did arrive he asked "was there anything else"? Because he thought we had already been served due to the clutter on our table!! We finally ordered, drinks came out right away but we had to return both meals...the VERY expensive steak I had ordered was not cooked to order (basically bloody beyond edible) Complained to Night (manager) his response...what do you want me to do? Awesome

Pros: Everything
Cons: Coffee at the restaurants and cafe
From the minute we checked in and we were advised our request for an early check in was accomodated - we had a ball! the room was clean, the staff friendly, no request was an issue, i would hihgly reccomend this amazing Resort with an incredible buzzy atmosphere, the rocking chairs are a treat and the beach frontage hard to fault, we loved it

Wonderful Vacation!

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: I loved the fact that it is a landmark. The wooden floor, room and the ring of the elevator seemed old fashioned, but to me that just added character.
Cons: The beach, if it could be made less crowded (I don't think that will be possible but hey, it is worth mentioning).
Location: This hotel is located in the center of Waikiki where one can find tons of restaurants, lots of shopping, and an incredible amount of sun bathing.
My daughter and I had a great time and even though it was just the two of us, we always felt safe. The accommodations were beyond our expectations, it was quiet, the room was spacious and very clean, the beach was just right outside, loved the breakfast at The Veranda. The staff was very helpful and had a great attitude. The beach was a bit crowded but we were able to enjoy it and make the most of it, we were also able to come and go as we pleased at any time of day or night. I requested a room away from the street and was given a room with view to the patio, it was wonderful to look out the window to see the trees, the beach, and people lounging about. I would definitely go back!

Good hotel but no the best....

Posted Jul 27, 2014
The hotel is in good location, the lobby area and the restaurant are spectacular, but the pool are very small and deteriored, and the air conditioner room not working good, more noise and not cool.
