“Very pleased with Ohana East's accomodations”
The location was perfect for first time Waikiki visitors like us. It was one block from the beach and very accessible by foot to so many restaurants and shopping places. The hotel itself was average in size but the hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool was quite small and so was the gym. But they were adequate. My only negative comment was the noise. From my room, I could hear the noises in the hallway and the adjacent rooms. But since we were out most of the time, this did not bother us too much except late at night. I would definitely stay at Ohana East again on my next Hawaii visit.
“Great location”
Good value on the whole, clean but in need of renovation, bed uncomfortable, walls thin, breakfast skimpy.. The landline for free phone calls was terrible. Service in room and the bell captain's desk excellent. We got a great room with a panoramic view from the top floor.
“Ohana East”
Location in central Waikiki is hard to beat. I would rate the room quality is a solid 3.
“Very convenient to everything”
Location is very close to most things. Only 1 block from the ocean. Staff was very friendly. It is an old hotel, but kept up pretty well.
“Great location, clean rooms, HARD bed.....”
If you're looking to stay a couple days and be close to all the action, it's a great place to stay. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and easy access to all the Waikiki attractions. However, the bed was so hard..... I would think that this mattress they used was 20+ years old or just didn't have any cotton/filling in it. It felt like sleeping on springs. However, the view we had was great of the city and the price was great. I'd stay again if it's just for a couple days, but if you want somewhere comfortable probably not the place to stay...
“Hotel condition and location satisfactory.”
Being a senior traveller, I would prefer having the hotel lobby on the street level, instead of taking the elevator or escalator to lobby and reception desk. My room was clean, and facilities were adequate. The hotel location was ideal; I enjoyed dining on the veranda by the main street. Hotel employees at the front desk were very courteous and gracious. They are a credit to the hotel.
“Great hotel, paper thin walls”
This hotel was good. Good not great. The best things about this hotel are the location and free trolley around Waikiki. The worst things about this hotel are the paper thin walls and the uncomfortable beds. Literally you will hear EVERY toilet flush in the building so bring ear plugs. My buddy even heard me eating chips in the other room when he was in the bathroom. Everything else was very good. Rooms are clean, AC works great and staff is awesome. Great hotel for the price.
“Some what disappointed”
From the picture of the room on the site, I thought it would be nicer. One of the days out of my stay my room was not cleaned or supplied. The worst part of the stay was at night. Very noisy with hotel doors that slammed and you could hear people talking in the neighboring rooms. The location was good and the neighborhood was nice. I put 'no' to the recommendation due to the noise level at night. Needed to go buy ear plugs! btw, if you rent a car and use the hotel garage...$20.00 a night extra!
“very convenient”
hotel was close to beach and restaurants. staff and housekeeping very friendly. had a great time seeing the sights.
“pampered”
The room was very clean, roomy and comfortable. We stayed here for 4 days before going to maui. After maui, we booked a couple more nights in this hotel before going back to the mainland. Highly recommend it, especially for the price.
