Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros:

The biggest pain is the elevators. You can be waiting up to 10 mins. We almost missed our shuttle to the airport because we were waiting 15 minutes to get down from the 15th floor. There was also a lot of construction on the hotel going on which made the use of the elevators worse. Other than that the blankets could use with a wash. The rooms are small but ok for what u pay for.

Posted Mar 29, 2015

Pros: The staff was very pleasant.
Cons: To much to mention.
Location: Location was good with lots to do nearby.
We were unaware of the sale of the Ohana Waikiki west sale. When we did learn this, We were told, mid stay, that we had to vacate at designated time but would have a curtesy room to shower in as our flight did not leave until 10:30 pm and our shuttle was due to pick us up at 7:30 pm. When we checked out we learned there was no curtesy room but they could hold our luggage till 3:45pm as hotel doors will be locked at 4 pm. Construction was going on in the room next to us which was very loud. So we asked to move and they obliged us. But our next room had small bugs all over counter in kitchen. There were no sharp knives, no can opener, no glasses, or wine glasses, no oven mitts, and for two days, no kitchen clothes to do dishes. There was also no wifi in rooms and all guests had to go to lobby to use it. It was very difficult to use as it was very slow with everyone trying to connect. Hotel was very run down and moldy

They should have told us!

Pros: The staff.
We had stayed at this hotel for the past 6 or 7 years. It is conveniently located and the staff had always been very helpful and pleasant. When we booked this time, we should have been notified that the hotel had been sold to the Hilton Hotel chain and that the new owners decided to commence rehabilitation and construction during our stay. The staff tried their best to maintain their past superior service, but were powerless to overcome obstacles created by the inconsiderate treatment of the new ownership. The hotel was officially closed to guests on 3/27/15. Unofficially, it is to be closed for a year. Why couldn't the new ownership wait until the hotel was vacated to begin renovations?

good location, cheap.

We got there really late and the parking lot was full. The reservation agent told me to park at the conference center, but the parking lady was sweet and let me in the garage anyways. With limited parking, I would recommend getting there earlier in the afternoon, not at 10 or 11 pm.
