Ohana West the ideal location to stay on a budget

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location and set up.
Cons: There were small bugs that showed up in different locations in the hotel room, otherwise it was perfect!
Location: There so much to do and so much within walking distance. When we didn't walk we used our hotel card to ride the pink line trolley for FREE around.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 6 days and 5 nights. We had a room with a kitchenette which made all the difference in how much money we spent on food. The location is great especially utilizing the bus and shuttle services. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day. We were experiencing Honolulu, Hawaii on a budget and this hotel was great for that purpose. We enjoyed the bar near the swimming pool and it also had a very nice cabana to sit and relax. We could play games such as billiards and connect four.

No free Wi-Fi to the room

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Position was close to the beach (for the price). It was cheap.
Cons: a chair or 2 in the room. A general upgrade of the lifts and addition of free Wi-Fi to the room.
Location: It was 2 blocks from the beach and one block from the shops. also not far from the zoo precinct of Waikiki.
The hotekl was old and shabby. there were no chairs in the room, nowhere to get breakfast, and no free Wi-Fi to the room, it was only available in the foyer. We were on floor 15 so this was not useful. The lifts were small and inadequate for the number of guests.

Good location.

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Self catering option.
Cons: Carpets need cleaning or replacing in some corridors. Some rooms smell musty.
Location: 10 mins walk to the beach. Shops all around. Many different eating establishments close by catering to all tastes and budgets. See a show nearby.
Stayed 3 nights on way to LA and had fabulous room. Fridge, microwave and mini cook top meant we could have breakfast in room. Small balcony but unfortunately, major demolition of site opposite hotel meant we could not open the doors. It was noisy during the day but we were out and about so it didn't bother us. Good value for money. Stayed 2 nights on return journey and we had a smaller room which had a very musty smell about it. Not good value for money this time as room was more expensive than previous stay. Nice pool and bar area. Very efficient and courteous reception staff at all times.

Nice hotel but needs overall

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: That it was safe and close to the beach and close to the bus stop and restaurant. The floor I was on was also very quiet.
Cons: Change the old furniture and clean the laundry room it was discussing
Location: Great location, close to Foodland , ABC store and great restaurant. One block from the beach.
This hotel is close to the beach and affordable, but needs some renovations. The elevator takes forever , long line when you check in. The furniture in lobby is old and dirty not very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful and chamber maid very nice. Wish they would take care of this Hotel, it has potential.

Reasonably priced accommodations in Waikiki.

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Good location.Stay includes pink line trolley key pass. No additional charges for Internet access and long distance calls under 15 minutes included.
Cons: Updated paint & flooring in rooms
Location: In Waikiki, close to beach. In the middle of shops and restaurants. Grocery store on the next block.
Good value for the money. Older hotel - flooring and paint looks dated and rooms are small. Don't stay here if you expect a new looking building.

Only a couple of blocks from the beach

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Great price for such a central location. Walking distance to everything you need. Unexpected sea views.
Cons: Needs to be wifi available in rooms not just in the lobby. Really slow connections meant that skyping or face timing was impossible.
Location: Beach only a couple of blocks away, supermarket across the road, shops everywhere.
Was upgraded to a room with small kitchen which was great. Building site in front of the hotel at the moment which creates some noise on weekdays but as they are demolishing it means that you can actually see the sea.
