A place to Sleep!!

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: staff was friendly and courteous.
Cons: need WiFi and Microwave in each room not only on certain floors. Shower curtains should have magnets at each end
Location: Ross and Walmart and other eating places were near by
my experience staying at this hotel was just a place to sleep, a little to expensive, no microwave, no WiFi had to pay for it for the cost that I paid to stay here. Staff was friendly and courteous, that's about it. The only thing that I liked best was it was in the downtown Honolulu area close to everything.

An okay place to hang your hat

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Easy and close access to everything around it.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of at this time
Location: It is located just a few blocks from Waikiki Beach, the Ala Moana Mall (a nice and rather large inside/outside mall), Diamond Head, Hanauma bay
It appears to be a rather old facility, however while we were there they were in the process of renovating the floor above us (this renovation did not affect our stay). The staff are there 24/7 and are more than willing to help and assist with your needs.

Location, location

I'll miss the terrace once they are all sold off. Might not be the most luxurious hotel in Honolulu, but it's easy to get to easy-to-use parking the kitchenette kept food costs to a minimum the apartment size fridge easily holds all your leftover dinners. Within walking distance to the mall, Don quotes, Walmart, and like like dinner plus more local eateries.

Roach motel

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and efficiant.
Cons: The roaches
We arrived at the Pagoda, check in was quick and staff were very friendly. We stayed in the terrace side of the hotel. As soon as we opened the door and turned on the lights 1 very large roach ran across the floor in front of us. We killed it. Turned on the lights in the bedroom and there was another one.

Once run-down, now much better!

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: What we like most about the Pagoda is its location. It is easy to access, and close to shopping, etc.
Cons: They currently charge for (wired) internet access. Free Wi-Fi is the new standard...
Location: The best thing is probably LikeLike drive-in next door. Good food, reasonably priced. The dinner entree's could feed two or more, for about $15.
We had taken the Pagoda off our list for Honolulu accommodations because it had become a dive, with unsavory characters on the grounds, etc. The new ownership/management has done well to improve the property and keep the riff-raff away. We are now comfortable staying there. The rooms are clean and the staff is responsive.

Good Value

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Location: Good shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The Pagoda Floating Restaurant had very good food and the prices reasonable, decor is dated.
Building and rooms are dated and could use some upgrading. Window air was good enough to keep the room comfortable. But everything is kept clean. Only thing we didn't care for during out stay was that there were no curtains on the windows to block out the sunlight if one wanted to sleep in a little.
