It was greatPosted May 23, 2014
The location was exactly what we were looking for. We were at arms reach of all the busy city at night and at arms reach of seclusuion during the day. The room was great. Never heard a neighbor the whole week. Staff was always kind from the front desk, restaurant, bar, ice cream shop, and bell boys. I would totally stay here again. The history of the queen gave it a sort of different feel than just a fancy hotel gives off. It seemed more respectful and meaningful.

Love Queen KapiolaniPosted May 21, 2014
Close to the beach. Fabulous view. Steps away from a juice bar. Great pool/bar area. Inexpensive luxury. Loved IT!

You can walk to pretty much anything..Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: Staff was very nice...
Location: Beach, good food, and shopping.. all within walking distance... and all tours can pick you up either in front of your hotel or within a block...
The hotel is so-so, it was right next to the zoo, so between the 630 am wake up calls from the animals or the hustle and bustle of the street, you are getting up early...

A wonderful experiencePosted May 3, 2014
Pros: People, views.
Cons: The room could be remodeled and the big picture windows have gaps that need caulking.
Location: Tons of stuff. If you don't like animal noises bring earplugs as the zoo is across the street. I like having lions and gibbons as my alarm clock.
The Queen Kapiolani is an older hotel but such a gem. The people really make it special. The front office staff, maids and everyone involved in this hotel put in an extra effort to smile and be helpful. We stayed in a corner room up high (1502) that had a wonderful view of Diamond Head which is very close (walking distance). It was showing it's age but we both enjoyed the views and the breezes. Never used the AC. Next time I'm going to get one of the rooms with a kitchen (which I didn't know they had) as i don't like eating out all the time. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

A little old of a building but has modern featuresPosted Apr 23, 2014
From the outside the building looks a little old, but so do all the buildings in that area. The rooms are a little small but the view makes up for it. The hotel is directly next to a zoo which is nice because there are but buildings everywhere, although since the hotel was on the end of the hotel strip it was about a mike walk to get to the main restaurants/shops area of downtown, although the walk was beautiful and passed many little shops and places to eat. Overall I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Good hotel with a very convenient locationPosted Apr 23, 2014
Very affordable hotel located just one block away from the beach. Overall, can't say anything bad about it, i guess the only downside is that they don't have a good restaurant. All you can get a poor breakfast menu which was overpriced and plain sandwiches and salads.

Classic Hawaiian venuePosted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: I liked that it has modern amenities with a traditional Hawaiian feel.
Location: The location was perfect for us as there were many local restaurants and several shopping malls a short walk from the hotel.
We had planned a 3 week Hawaiian holiday & as we came to the end of our stay were looking for comfortable, quiet resort that fit our lifestyle. The Royal Kona resort fit the bill. She is a grand old lady with classic details within easy walking distance to shopping & restaurants. I loved the open lobby and admired the beautifully landscaped grounds. We had an ocean view room with a wonderful vista that included Kailua-Kona & the ocean.

Nice hotel.. Right across the street from the zoo!Posted Apr 6, 2014
We were most happy about the location.. Just a walk away from the beach..the zoo.. And kalakaua avenue where all the great shops and restaurants are. Although the view isn't the best from the room.. We were really there for what's going on downthe street from the hotel. $1.00 an hour parking in the zoo parking lot.. Even though it looks a bit run down.. It was much worth it to park there.. Overall.. I would stay there again instead of paying triple the price for a hotel three minutes down the road.
